I don't understand the point of this thread, considering it was apparently an issue for some of us a year ago when they announced the axe. Would you not buy a Silo or Silo special because Benji played one? I doubt it. It's not like a pox on the instrument, he just dig's em and proved that they hold up on the rigors of the road. He's a kid like the rest of us who dig EBMM's, he's used them for quite sometime and while I might not dig his band, but you've gotta give props to a guy who has impeccable taste in instruments, regardless if his general audience isn't made up of virtuosos....

Sorry guys I've given the wrong message. I'm probably writing too much and then confused both myself and everyone.

You get the chance to have your very own Musicman
You have the chance to build ONE guitar that will have your signiture on it.
The guitar manufacturer is Ernie Ball Musicman.
You can spec it in whatever way you want.
Therefore, spec it so it can play everything.

I'm just bringing up the fact that if I had a choice of guitar that I can spec for everything, I will build one that is versitile to the extreme.

In no way were my posts supposed to dig at BM, Good Charlotte or Musicman. Just questionning the reason behind the specs that BM chose. I could play Good Charlotte stuff on my Silouette (even though it's not my kinda thing) and then flick the pickup for whatever. Hopefully I've kind of cleared up the mess I made.

Does anyone hear the dead horse winnying? No? Put a fork in it, this one is done.

Benji has a signature guitar. Great.
It is a EBMM....Really Great.

Enough said. I think as a company decision, it was a good one. Personally, I don't care. I don't own stock in EBMM (well, sort of, I do own their guitars) but I do not have the right to question their decisions.

BM, he got what he wanted. If he decides to change, I am sure EBMM will oblige him.

Far be it from me to compare EVH and Benji Madden, but no-one seemed to mind when EVH was using a single pickup guitar - he made some half decent music with one pickup (going for the understatement there). Although not one of my fave players, a signature guitar is just that - exactly what the artist needs- so the BM sig is justified

Thats true, but l ain't buying it, l like a bit of versitility in my guitars, l hate swapping guitars at gigs, l like to stick to one guitar. If it works for them thats cool, but when Eddie released those Charvels, and the price of those damn things, no way man.

What I have been saying is this...Benji had a chance to have a signature guitar. He was already playing Silos before he was signed. For what he does, all he wanted and needed was a single humbucker in the bridge position...What is so wrong with that. For what he plays, it's perfect. If I ever got a signature guitar, I might have only the neck p/up. For what I do it's all I need. I never use the bridge p/up, so why have it there? Benji didn't ask for this guitar to make you happy. I am sorry it doesn't fit everybodys ideal of what a guitar should be, but that's why we make others.

This thread is getting really old, and I bleeb I'm gonna close it.

That was kinda my point as well, it doesn't do nothing for me, either does EVH's one pickup guitar, but it's all cool, but l thought you were gonna close this one up, go ahead and do it, this topic is getting old, and l don't think anyone cares anymore, l'm just posting this message cause l have nothing to do at work, and l'm bored.

Cheers,

Scott.
