Fretless is not a "model." It's an option.

There are still six basses left (assuming we're right on these).

and, if you aren't excited, feel free to stop opening this thread.
:p

Singlecut Bongo with spalted maple top, HH pickup config w/ curved pickups to match fingerboard radius, 4EQ w/ Active/Passive switch w/ the 4EQ turning into stacked V/T for each pickup, Kahler tremolo bridge, and Sterling Ball signature on the headstock. :p

Mmmmm...
Rotten wood... ?

The Bongo is fine the way it is. It is... excellent!

BONGO
lolololz it r0x0rz my s0x0rz

:D

i would hate to find a case for a 6 string bongo if they had a 5+1 headstock...that would be really long...and if they did it on the bottom (4+2) it seems like it would kill the can opener look..

You people are insane.

Coupla things. First, let's thank GOD that EB has never felt the need to use "those tops" in order to sell basses. You know the tops I'm talking about.

If anyone ever brings up SPALT in here again, expect to be banned for life, if I can find the button that Jon uses!

So I think, aside from the 20th anniversary Stingrays, we can stop thinking about fancy coffee table looking stuff. I certainly hope I'm right.

A six-string bass would be even more shocking than spalted tops. I can't picture it.

On the other hand, I couldn't picture the Bongo either before I saw photos, so I might be completely full of doo-doo.

I don't think so, though. I just don't see EB selling enough six string basses to make it worthwhile.

2pu stingray? maybe

Sweet Jesus jumped up and played a glockenspiel. I might have to sell you boys some Bongos if this comes to pass. Dang, the spousal unit is bothering me about finding a job....this may be the motivation I need.

Torture, indeed, Sir Sterling of Indio.

I can't decide if knowing this (what little we do know) is fun or not.

Boys
Im sorry that some of you are bummed out. But would you prefer no heads up?

A new hint.....You will not see any form of bongo pickups of preamps in any of the new models

But would you prefer no heads up?

That made me laugh! We're such geeks about this stuff, aren't we? I'm sure I should find a way to be ashamed, but ..... I'm not.

I, for one, appreciate the torture.

And I have to admit it - I also love the reaction here on the forums.

I hoist a very cold martini in your honor, BP.

This makes me happy and makes me even more anxious to hear what's in store come this summer.

No way. There are interesting theories about mixing pleasure and pain, and this thread is a good exemple.

Now that we know that :
- the lefty Bongo we were beding on is not inclueded in the 6 new models
- you won't use the Bongo Pu or preamp
- it will be new models and not options like color or something like that,

we have to figure out 6 completely new basses.

Impossible for me. I only think that there could be something cheaper than the SUB to offer EBMM quality in the entry level, or maybe some signature model (you have some for the guitars but not for the basses, right ?).
