Could you ask around? Again, just curious.

Does he pass out drunk pretty easily?

Not that information like this would be useful.

(Just kidding, Scott. I don't even want that stinky old thing any more.)

(Nor do I want it any less.)

I have done tequila shots with Mr Dargin, and he remained upright. I bleeb he can hold his own with the best of us. I have heard that BP likes the tequila, and has some killer schtuff in his collection. I am so stoked about this whole thing. I really am.

There are so few things I know FOR SURE in this world, but I know that I am not a tequila drinker. I realized this early on, in college, in a female dorm, and have never even attempted to repeat THAT incident.

Bless you, Mary Beth, wherever you are - and your roommates, and rock and roll and breakfast served naked in southern Mississippi.

Anyway, what was I saying?

Oh yeah. We'll have to lay in some vodka stores, too. Ciroc is my current fave, so just point me to the liquor store and we're in bidness. I'd love to be able to say, "So I made Scott and Jon and Sterling a martini and...."

And whatever else. I know, Jon, you see these guys on a daily basis, and I try not to be too.....wassa word....awestruck? Yeah, that's it. I feel like Scott and I are buddies (electronic pen pals) and we've had fun over the last year or so, pretending that "DARGIN" is out to get me (and that I'm out to get his green Bongo) so, well, Scottie and me, we're like 'this'. I look forward to hoisting a few with the young lad.

And Sterling has been so accessible to us here that he's no longer just The Big Guy but now Big Poppa, and it's different - very cool - you know what? This should be an email because I'm rambling.

Let's just say this:

1. Thank you, Derek, wherever you might be right now. This forum needed you at the time, and you were here.

2. Thank you, Dargin. Some things I know for sure and some things I just suspect, but I'm pretty sure you made some very cool things happen along the way.

3. Jon - what in God's name would we do without you? You ain't chopped liver, buddy. Your time, your expertise, your insight, your friendship....your 'banned for life" button....if we, the Forumites, don't tell you on a daily basis how much you have taught us, it's because we're ungrateful bastards.

4. Mister Big Poppa...thank you (and your dad, who I'm sure is having a few laughs with Leo over these nutty forum bassists) for making the sound in my head come out of my bass. Thanks for the balls to give us Bongos. Thanks for the guys mentioned above, too. Thanks for having the knowledge to run the best damned musical instrument company in the Universe, and I mean that.

Now let's all get a sandwich and get over it.

Look people are already let down if the new basses are two pickup models.....thats a surprise!

I think that what we going to show is basses with some great new tonal possibilities...

Question............

Is world peace easier than meeting some of the forumites expectations?

You mean we aren't the world? JK . BP your company is run better than most governments. For that I commend you. For the SR5 I have that was built by your company I love you.

Probably a bit mushy but what the hey I have been drinking. 3 nights of gigs has me a bit on the slightly less than sober side. One on for tommorrow too. Hey the SR5 done made me a real bass player.

Thanks

That was beautiful. No really I mean that. I agree, I won't repeat Jack's points or Tk's, hell, there were a lot of good ones, but if I didn't say that I feel ridiculously cared for by the good people that we are amazingly fortunate to have, well, I just wouldn't be doing the right thing. Thanks for all the fish.:)

Hmmmmmm................how strange.

Instead of having a left foot like 99.9% of the population, you appear to have a wrong foot instead. What's more, your first step on this forum has been made with that wrong foot! :D

I very much doubt that BP or Dargin would lie about new products!!

EDIT: PS......welcome to the fora :D :D ;)

Singlecut Bongo with sp***ed maple top, HH pickup config w/ curved pickups to match fingerboard radius, 4EQ w/ Active/Passive switch w/ the 4EQ turning into stacked V/T for each pickup, Kahler tremolo bridge, and Sterling Ball signature on the headstock. :p
That's exactly what I was thinking too. :D

Gentlemen.

All in good time, and our benefactors in SLO have yet to produce a single stinker of a bass. Everyone calm down and ease up on these:

1. "I hope..."
2. "I wish...."
3. "I believe..."

I hope Scott sells me the Martini Olive Green Bongo. I wish Jon lived next door and could set up all my basses on a weekly basis. I believe, however, that I am full of doo-doo. All the talk, some serious and some not, of what you WISH or HOPE or BELIEVE the factory should produce?

Come on. The bass manufacturing expertise is there in California. We just play the things. We don't know squat about building vast numbers of them, must less determining if there actually IS a market.

Witness our love of green basses and sparkle finishes. Fans, as I've mentioned before, we're the lunatic fringe, not the average bass buying public.

I don't mean to stomp on your enthusiasm at ALL. I'm about as excited as I can be. But calm down. I have this feeling we'll all be well taken care of in San Luis Obispo and that the new models will make everyone very, very happy.

Dontcha think?

Can I get an "AMEN!"from the audience.

You speak the truth here. EBMM knows what they are doing and knows how to "wow" the public. Look at the Bongo. It is kind of like the platypus of the bass world... kind of strange looking when you first see 'em, but a total engineering marvel when you get up close. When I first started playing it around Cincy, other bass players laughed... then they heard it... now they want it. I am sure that whatever BP has cooked up will go over well (but I am really curious).
