I see both sides. There is something to say about preservation. I also consider fine guitars as art. Also there is a really good chance that all of the stashed guitars will get played someday as they have a longer life expectancy than us mortals.

i can understand the "collecting thing". I personally am not a collector. I love what I have and i have no problem playing or scrathing it... that's what I got 'em for.

Now since I have 4 sterlings... if i saw a cherry, trans white sterling at a price i could afford I would buy it and keep it nice n safe. now, if i didn't have "so many" (if i only had 1) i couldnt justify having 1 for collecting. but if youre financially secure enough to have players and collectors, more power to u.

Kids I was involved in the design of both guitars and they are great. If you prefer the Axis then you see what I wanted to do in the first place. If you prefer the EVH then you prefer the collaboration between Dudley EVH and me.

Lets look at this modern collectable market. I am really proud that I had a hand in something that has appreciated rather than ended up iin the bargin bin. The EVH is one of the only collectable guitars to come out in twenty years. I take it as a compliment.

Remember it is a free market based on supply and demand. The prices are validated buy the fact that people are still buying them at these inflated prices

If paying a premium for a really limited supply isnt your thing, we are happy to make you a new guitar!

BP very well said. You should be very proud as i dont see a whole lot of other guitars bringing this kinda of money on e-bay or actually going up in price. that says alot for your company and the men behind the scene's.

oh yeah...really when you think about it...the EVH is probably one of the most sought-after/collectable signature series guitars of all time, which is quite an accomplishment, for any company!!!

that was gonna be my max bid, when the auction was runing, but he removed the auction... and i missed this, but now, it was better this way, too much money for a different color guitar...(if it was different in other way it would be more rare) but not for a paint job that i can do it to a faded and abused one.
