Guys, before getting all excited, remember the pic that started all this - the St. V, that came from EB, not a vendor. It's much bluer. I'm banking on that one being more accurate. Also remember how difficult it is to get accurate color reps of some EB finishes. We had lots of discussions about Barolo when it came out. My Bahama Blue is all over the map too. Let's just wait for some new official pics.

I don't like it at al in those pics, but like Mike said, I'll reserve judgement until it's in my hands. Most recent ebmm finishes are very difficult to photo. I take some the best ****ty amateur photos of guitars ever haha, and it's dang near impossible to show many recent finishes from EBMM well. Here's hoping that's the case with this one!

I fully expect "color balance" and "hard to capture" have a lot to do with it. Plenty of prior MM finishes 'change' depending on the lighting. My ex LIII in Bohdi Blue was a perfect example of that...went from blue to gray to silver depending on the angle of light.
That had nothing to do with it being a fabulous instrument.
I like the look of this Starry Night finish, but I ordered an ALHH because of the features. If the color is a little off, that certainly wouldn't make me change my mind about it...

I really think that a lot of the grey appearance is reflected light from the room where Sweetwater shot their photos. Look at the difference in the top and the scoop in this shot.

As mentioned above, true colours are difficult to capture.
I haven't seen a single picture that truly shows how rich the 2014 Neptune Blue is...
And I haven't managed to take a decent picture of my pinkburst...
BUT the sweetwaters really do look mush more greyish than the teaser pictures!
I think we'll have a better idea when they hit the stores!

Fab guitar and fab colour but the picture is just plain blue while the guitar as some subtle deep greenish reflects in it. Looks actually like deep water. Hence the name Neptune blue.

To each, their own! Perception is in the eye of the beholder, background color, lighting (source, angle, temperature etc.). There will always be variance in all paint finishes/stains from one piece to the next.

Absolutely, but wood nature must not be neglected for the colors too. Your fabulous top is mapple, right?
My PDN 2014 is mahogany. Light reflects so differently.
I'm confident in MM. The Starry Night will be a GREAT RUN.

I am a terrible person...Valentine and AL HH in Starry Night... Will probably keep both but that stunning AL SSS in Trans blue may have to go...
