now thats my kind of list! especially the caterham r400!!! wow what a rocket!
but i still love my old school muscle, 67 mustang fastback, Valiant/Dodge charger, Ford Falcon GTHO Phase3 (love aussie muscle cars)
then i love the old mini cooper S! puts a smile on my face every time i see one
and if funds could stretch gimme a Bugatti Veyron amazing engineeriing masterpiece!
Let me think back... the ones I miss the most (not in order):
1964 Karman Ghia (first car), light yellow
1972 AMX Javelin, 304, 2-barrel, 3-speed on the floor, split vinyl top, fiberglas hood, dual glaspak exhausts and an 8-track tape player(!), copper metallic I still have fond memories of cleaning and setting the points in that carburator. Ahhh. It was a wonderful thing!
1968 Mustang convertible, red w/black interior
Would have also like to have my dad's red Mach1 Mustang, black Fleetwood Caddy with the big fins and the buttercream Mercedes he had in 1976 or so. The burled wood trim inside and leather seats made it a thing of beauty. It also had the push button start that my current silver Camry Hybrid has.
I rode in a white Bricklin once and that was way cool.
I entertained the thought of leasing a BMW 328i coupe. I think I'm going to wait until it's a bit more feasible to either buy or lease a 335i coupe. We'll see, but that's what I'm thinking today.
Porsche 356 convertible
1954 Oval VW Beetle (like the one I wrote off!! )
Kharmann Ghia
Chevy Bel Air
Plymouth 'Cuda (like my cousin in SL had!!)
1952 split screen beetle
Model T Ford
My old 1972 Ford Escort RS2000 was a **** load of fun round corners. I now have a 1969 Vespa scooter(sorry I know this is a car thread), but given the garage space i'd have The General Lee
my #1 pick is the 87 Buick Grand National that Oldtoe mentioned. IMO you dont get much more badass than that. I will own one, one of these days. I really dig the new Charger SRT-8 too.
Right now I'm driving a 2000 Jeep Sport. It aint fast, and it's bad on gas but its all I could afford and it can fit all of a 4 piece rock bands gear.
Now if I could switch rides into something fun and practical I'd be looking at a VW GTI or a Mazda speed 3.
My first car was a '68 Cougar. It was green and had tan leather interior. It really was a POS though. Had to carry a set of tools at all times. It rarely started without sticking a screwdriver b/w the bolts on the solenoid. Once you got somewhere you never knew if it would start again to get home.
Just sold this one yesterday, the last of three Z-cars I have restored. Still looks pretty damn sweet for a nearly 30 year old car. I have now officially retired from the restoration hobby...too much time and headaches...need to practice geetar!
