Actually this is the first Ford either one of us has owned. After fooling around with the Z cars for a few years she wanted something brand new and fun. This one fit the bill.

Born a Ford boy. Will die a Ford boy. :)

I actually want to pick up an 87 Stang. Got one locally. Tempting...

You sure you want a speed density car, Andrew, instead of MAF? You can have a lot more fun with a mass-airflow equipped 5.0.

And if I had all the cash in the world, and a drivers license i think it would be:

- Alfa Romeo GTA
- Maserati 3200 GT
- Lamborghini Miura
- Aston Martin Vanquish
- Alfa Romeo SZ
- Lancia Delta Integrale (<-- that one isn't that expensive but you have to buy 3 of them to drive 1:eek:)

Nope, still doesn't ring any bells with me.

It looks a bit like one of those old pick-up trucks that they drove in 'Deliverance'.

Chevy El Camino(Spanish for The Road) was a car/truck made from 1959-87' with some gaps(early sixties). I'm definitely most fond of the 68'-72' body style, which shared the same lines with the Chevelle. I worked all summer long my freshman year of high school(in the local Apricot Orchards) saving up $850 to buy it. Then me and my dad spent the next couple of years restoring it. I remember when I first got it home(unlicesned obviously at 15) I used to drive it around my parents drive way and then go do donuts in the back field behind their house.......the donuts where later transferred to the high school parking lot. For which I was busted by Mr. Klien. He stopped me and said "Mr. Scoles...I suggest you go home and tell your father about this before he gets the call from me." I called his bluff and didn't say anything when I got home.........only problem....he wasn't bluffing. My driving has been much much more reasonable since that day. :)

Cool story :)

I drove an electric milk-float when I was 15. Not much good for donuts, or in fact for anything much....

well....there's even more to the story:

about 4 weeks after getting it out of the Paint Shop and re-assmbled. I got in an accident.....and to make matters worse it was with a good friend of mine. He was in his 1969 Mustang and me in the El Camino. I went to make a left turn at the same time he went to try and pass from behind and we had a T-Bone sandwich on our hands.....God what a day!! $1,800.00 damage to the Stang and $2,300.00 damage to the El Camino. It was a long-long-long drive to my dad's work to tell him what happened. We had both poured so much effort into this car over the last few years...and it was crunched in a matter of seconds. However it was one of those instances with your parents where you think they are going to explode and really come down on you....and it was just the opposite, I think he knew how much it hurt me to see my baby like that!! :) :) :) The nice thing about restoring a car...is once your done if anything happens...the insurance is there to handle it. 6 weeks in the body shop and I was back cruising McHenry Drive just like in American Graffiti.

:) :)
thats probably enough Kevin Stories to last a while....(at least until baseball season)

Cars and guitars - now this is my kind of forum. If I had a stable for a garage, I'd buy:

1. Early '70s Stingray convertible
2. Porsche 928 GTS4 or a mid-90s 911 Targa, probably the Targa
3. Chevrolet SSR
4. BMW X5 4.4
5. Ford F-150
6. Ford Shelby Mustang GT500

That should do it for today!

My aunt just traded in her X5 4.4i for a new X5. I really liked her old one! Superb-driving SUV. And that BMW Montana leather smell is wonderful.
