so much that has never been seen before, this is too much fun. i have to say, i think the fiesta/coral red looks even better on the sterling. classic 5'ers and sterlings in the same day ... i should buy a lottery ticket.

That black 1 is a must have!
Absolutely classic!

A whole new line of basses! Who would have thought this a year ago?

Seems like this year is the year of classics.

Now I have no idea which to purchase. Maybe all the different classics. :)

Stunning!

Will there be a 1.5" nut width option available for the Classic 'Ray too like with the Slo Specials?

That would be even more amazing!

I guess there's no fiver? Makes sense because the Classic SR5 and Sterling are basically from the SUB catalog, except now have the gloss paint and all. My $.02. I might be speaking too soon, although I'll find out tomorrow a.m. when I arrive at the EB/MM booth at NAMM!

Take a close look at the bridge of the bass. The small rectangular rubber foam pads you can see are the mutes.

They have a dial-up screw which raises the pad until it touches the string. This then "mutes" the sustain of the string and muffles it (removes some of the bright overtones) so you get a stronger, thumpier fundamental tone... think palm muting.

The mutes on my EBMM Sabre aren't as effective at producing an upright thump as the mutes on my Rick3nback3r 4003 (active vs passive and totally different sonic territory), but they are still fun to play with and a useful addition to the versatility of the instrument.

Cheers

Andy
