Random Thoughts for Friday, 29 September:

Had a real scare when the big Texas BBQ place we wanted for the Friday Night Casual BBQ with BP had a band booked! Erika sweet-talked the mgr into rescheduling the band - can you believe that? So we have the venue for the BBQ and Friday night jam.

Finally! We had a bad 24 hours there, folks.

Details - big place. Private room for the eats and Erika says the best ribs she's ever tasted. Full bar. Stage. The stage is ours after 9 pm; we'll have to supply equipment (I was hoping they had a PA but no joy there). They aren't closing it down for us, so there will be Shocked And Frightened Regular Humans at the bar, although I'm told biz falls off seriously after the kitchen shuts down.

At some point, I'm going to need to know how many of you expect to be here for the Friday Night Events, too.

Gotta figure out a way to do that.

Oh yeah - Friday will be a Forum Jam, I think, at the BBQ place.

The schedule of musical events for Saturday, tweaked to perfection by BP and Erika, is:

1. Cowpilot
2. Biff Baby's All Stars
3. Forum Jam

This way, I can be done with my workday early and enjoy the rest of the evening. I like this concept a lot. Especially since martinis and bass playing do not go together well for yours truly.

For you guys who already have booked rooms at the Hyatt, please email me over the weekend. We now have a group rate and if you already have a room reserved, only I (or Erika actually) can change it, which we will gladly do.

DO NOT PM ME! I mean, I love you and all, but I can't keep track of PMs. My inbox fills up with "How do I fix this knob" and "Can you ship to New Zealand" and all that stuff, so email me. Thanks!

More as it comes to me.

Jack, I'll provide a P.A. if we need it. Ought to work for what we're doing. God knows we ought to have enough bass rigs at our disposal! I'm sure Andy will let us use his Premier kit. You guitar people are on your own! :) j/k, someone will have something nice, surely.

FYI-
2 Mackie 15" mains
2 Yorkville 2X10 subs
3 Mackie SRM-450 monitors
Mics
Stuff
Cables
etc. etc.

Doesn't look like it is active yet via the web.

I'm going to try and call it in. I shall report back. :)

Monday! It won't be active until Monday!

Ben, re the PA, I'll ask BP about the Friday night event, but I do believe I have been told to not worry about PA, backline, drums, xylophones, dancing bears or those little clippy things on the mic stand that hold guitar picks.

Sweet. I'm down for a Forum Jam.

I'm going to be landing in Dallas just after 10am on Friday.

What are the chances there are any Bongos in Dallas I could borrow?
