BP----I guess I'm just biased because my 20th anniversary Silo is due to arrive in several hours-------I think its the most beautiful piece I've ever seen--already got to check it out in the flesh and the top is perfection----and it was christened by Tommyindelaware!!!!!!!!

Paul,
You said you checked out this guitar through the flesh, how do you do that?
Also, what do you mean it was "christned by Tommy"?

*I would appreciated if you can post some pix and review once your 20th comes in.
thanks, David

I can't quite remember the story but I'm sure that fellow "knucklehead" tommyindelaware was going to try this guitar out (with the owners permission !) before the owner got it.

Check out the posts made by tommyindelaware and I'm sure you'll get a low down on what happened or I guess after Pauldodx has "licked" his new Silo, he'll be around to tell ya

xacktly spud----Pete D took the guit down to Delaware for a test run,as it was the first most of us have seen------and tommyindelaware put it through its paces. Tommy is a top-notch player and talent and has played EBMM forever and owns a bunch. If you wanna see pix and some sound clips of the guitar look for the thread titled: For My 2000th post--a torture thread by Pete Dubaldo. I'm off to "lick" the new acquisition!!!!:D :D :D

Did you say you want that Pete? :D

Did I?

Lemme tell you about the time I accidently strung up my acoustic guitar with .013s right before a gig - tuned up, and then played an hour forty first set. BALLOONS for fingertips! With the 20th Anniversary Silhouette I wouldn't have had that problem - THE GUITAR IS PURE MAGIC!

NO JOKE - THIS GUITAR IS THE BOMB! IF YOU HAVEN'T ORDERED ONE YET, DO SO NOW!!!!!!

Very rare Nick and not cheap but very good sounding for tops, that´s why I asked Dargin about the sound.

What do you mean not good sound for tops? It is a mahagony/Korina type sound, which is great.

"This very beautiful wood comes exclusively from Hawaii making supply very limited. It's weight varies somewhat from medium to heavy and is an excellent tone wood . . . . Koa has a warm sound similar to mahogany, but with a little more brightness. "

Should sound great.

Koa is simply beautiful. I love the koa wood. Dargie...great axe as I am sure it sounds absolutely amazing! Great job bro!

All, I got my hands on the 20th at the NAMM show and it straight out KILLS! This is the guitar of the future and will bring much joy to those who own it! Trust me, I am a JP player and I was blown away with it.

Re-read Mick's post, I think you missed his point. He said that Koa is:

1) Very rare
2) not cheap
3) very good sounding for tops.

Oops, forgot to add: Scott Ball, you and that crew of yours are knocking it outta the park on a regular basis.

Great, great work, man.

Yes. In fact, I need to be hit over the head with a maple-top caramelburst Petrucci guitar. That's when I'll pull the trigger. :)

The 20th Silo is a gem, but I need that thin neck, deep body contour, and amazing tremolo that only show up on a Petrucci. Call me crazy for getting hooked on these ergonomic things, but my tendonitis and the ganglian cyst on my fretting-hand wrist tell me otherwise! :D

Ah, so you're the lucky dog getting that one! Enjoy. :)
