dude you know you want Medallion Gold ... we can make it the official San Matro County EBMM color. So whenever we someone play one we can be all like "hey dude, you're from san mateo huh?" ... and they'll either say "ya man" or have to turn in their instrument to the autorities ... aka us :)

sound like a plan?

You still may need to toss a coin after the polls close. ;) ;)

Or, I can run a poll of how I should decide this poll (in the event of a tie)...everybody seems to eat this sh*t up (myself included).:D

You wouldn't happen to have a Medallion Gold EBMM that you could bring to the next jam night (or POW pow-wow) that I could check out?

Six weeks ago I posted a favorite Bongo color poll and listed all of the available colors from the EBMM color chart.

The results proved that the answer to "What's the best color" around here is "Yes."

Might as well put a printout of the color chart on your wall and throw a dart.

Here's a way to decide. Buy both and have them delivered directly to me. The one I forward on to you is the one you should have. :p

BTW Shamus, I think I can speak with some authority on the matter. If you want a fretless I would advise against the single H if you don't get the piezo with it. If you don't want to pay for a piezo, then I would definately get one of the dual bongos, you will want the tonal variety.

Thanks EQ ~ I'll definitely keep that thought in mind. I still have to weigh between making this next purchase an FL, or getting a backup fretted B4.

Doesn't matter too much, as I'll eventually buy them both...such a whore!:D

In that case, if you really want a single H I would make that one your backup fretted and get an HH as the fretless. Kinda the opposite of what I am doing, but I got the piezo on my single H.

Yeah, I'm thinking of going the backup route first. The fretless would end up taking a back seat most of the time for the gigs that I get, and it's a big chunk of change for a novelty bass (not that I won't do it).

G.A.S. is G.O.O.D.!:D

OTOH, you can always use the fretless as a backup. That's what I do. I'm no fretless ace, but I wouldn't hesitate to use my fretless if needed.

Consider that your backup will get even less use than a fretless would as long as your main bass is working.

Playing a fretless won't be the same, but it can certainly substitute for your main bass in a pinch...plus you get the added flexibility (not to mention fun) of a fretless.

That won't work with classic rock gigs, which are my main gigs anyway.

Besides, the term "backup" in regards to a second bass is a loose term; I'd give both basses equal stage time.

Pick guard color is "everything" here!! Unless a custom color pick guard replaces the stock one; e.g., pearl black, etc. . . then it's DG as it stands.

However, all things considered - STEALTH BLACK eliminates all competiton!!

None of the other Bongo colors do it for me as much as these two (and my Stealth)...

...unless Buttercream makes a comeback (by some miracle!).

That's okay, though, 'cause in the interim...

...I'm bidding on Stingrays! :D
