I am currently waiting on my new Bass. 5 string OLP. I was just going to get new strings and I need some help finding strings that will be used mainly for rock and blues.
For classic rock and blues, flatwound strings are the ticket. People have their favorite brands, and I like D'Addario Chromes, Thomastic-Infeld Jazz Flats, and Dean Markley flats.
hey dood i got an olp there pretty kick ace they sound pretty good. did u get the vlack one or natural? i got natural. when u bye the olps the come already with regular slinkys on them. unless its used then i have no idea
the black has the matching headstock oh dood on the olps website olpguitars.com they got the mm3 in like a gunsmoke so its grey wit a black pickgaurd o man it was awsome. well good luck dood hope u like i did and still do
the best string that i have been threw are GHS Boomers Medium or Medium Light Gauge. but the last pack of medium lights i recieved, the e string blew ass. i think it was just that pack though
I use Dean Markley Blue Steels. Looking for a halfwound pack though. The smoothness of a flatwound string combined with the tone of a roundwound. Anyone know who makes these?
I think these are what came on my Bongo 5 (jongitarz is that correct?). If so, these are the ones I like at least for the Bongo. Clear and focused with lots of zing for slap & pop
