I am currently waiting on my new Bass. 5 string OLP. I was just going to get new strings and I need some help finding strings that will be used mainly for rock and blues.

Any Suggestions

For classic rock and blues, flatwound strings are the ticket. People have their favorite brands, and I like D'Addario Chromes, Thomastic-Infeld Jazz Flats, and Dean Markley flats.

Right now I'm using DR Hi-Beams. I'm using an extra light gauge set and have found them to my liking. I wanna try out flats one day, though...

hey dood i got an olp there pretty kick ace they sound pretty good. did u get the vlack one or natural? i got natural:D. when u bye the olps the come already with regular slinkys on them. unless its used then i have no idea

the black has the matching headstock oh dood on the olps website olpguitars.com they got the mm3 in like a gunsmoke so its grey wit a black pickgaurd o man it was awsome. well good luck dood hope u like i did and still do:D

the best string that i have been threw are GHS Boomers Medium or Medium Light Gauge. but the last pack of medium lights i recieved, the e string blew ass. i think it was just that pack though

I use Dean Markley Blue Steels. Looking for a halfwound pack though. The smoothness of a flatwound string combined with the tone of a roundwound. Anyone know who makes these?

DR Black Beauties. Gonna try a set of Bootzillas next time. My only gripe about the Black Beauties 5 string set is the .125 B. I want a .130 B. :)

I Like the Regular Slinky's.

I think these are what came on my Bongo 5 (jongitarz is that correct?). If so, these are the ones I like at least for the Bongo. Clear and focused with lots of zing for slap & pop:p
