I am currently waiting on my new Bass. 5 string OLP. I was just going to get new strings and I need some help finding strings that will be used mainly for rock and blues.

Any Suggestions

For classic rock and blues, flatwound strings are the ticket. People have their favorite brands, and I like D'Addario Chromes, Thomastic-Infeld Jazz Flats, and Dean Markley flats.

Right now I'm using DR Hi-Beams. I'm using an extra light gauge set and have found them to my liking. I wanna try out flats one day, though...

I use Dean Markley Blue Steels. Looking for a halfwound pack though. The smoothness of a flatwound string combined with the tone of a roundwound. Anyone know who makes these?

DR Black Beauties. Gonna try a set of Bootzillas next time. My only gripe about the Black Beauties 5 string set is the .125 B. I want a .130 B. :)

I think these are what came on my Bongo 5 (jongitarz is that correct?). If so, these are the ones I like at least for the Bongo. Clear and focused with lots of zing for slap & pop:p
