Okay! Me, Norm, famous drummer, who's in for playing second guitar on "Little Sister"? We almost have our first Knucklehead group together!

Holy sheet Pete!!! That's a pretty impressive song to do. Geoff has quite a range and there aren't many that can hang with him.

looking forward to this more and more...

fred

Fred, I comfortably hit F (1st on low E) all the way to a falsetto A (15 high e) and have gone as low as a dropped D on occasion. So my range is just over 3 octaves. (Keep in mind I haven't said I have a pleasant voice ;) )

I'll have to run some of these big song lists past my bro, he's attending and he can sing VERY well, dunno if he would want to or not tho...

Anything from Mindcrime?

Sure,
Eyes of a Stranger is no prob, song gets me giddy when I hear it - outro MUST build tempo :D

I'd have to memorize the lyrics for:
Operation - Mindcrime
I Don't Believe in Love
Breaking the Silence
Revolution Calling is a bit of a push

Mmmmmm.....Eyes of a Stranger. Hands down my favorite QR song ever. Gives me tingles. (Ok...maybe that's a bit weird  )

I'm not going to clutter up the sign up sheet, but think of me as the guy in grade school that gets picked last for kickball. If, after you guys all get organized, you find you need a secong guitarist for anything, I'm here. It's been a decade since I've played with other folks - so just give me some time to learn the song(s). No way I'm offering to play lead in front of all of you shredders...

Pete,
I learned parts of it, but mostly by osmosis. I never actually sat down and gave it any quality time. Plus, given how little I practice, most of the leads are out of reach for me. I'd hate to think how I'd torture it.

Thanks for the nudge, but given how long it's been since I've played out, I'll keep watching for a while and see how things go. Like I said, if there's a need along the way, I'll jump in....

Pete,

It's been a long time, but I used to know Take Hold of the Flame (and No Sanctuary from the same album). I will listen to it tomorrow and see how readily it comes back. I know the main parts of "Silent Lucidity" but I don't think it will hold up without keyboards. I love "Breaking the Silence of the Night" and "I don't believe in love" from Mindcrime... I'd be willing to learn one of them if we can get a bassist on board. We'd probably want another guitar as well, since Ryche had DeGarmo and Wilton in those days..

Anyone know the King's X tune "Summerland" from the album Gretchen Goes To Nebraska? I used to play that and "Goldilox" from their Out of the Silent Planet album.

Any Talas fans here? I used to play a lot of their stuff.

How about anything from the 1st side of Rush's 2112 album? Temples of Syrinx? 2112 Overture? I used to play all of them and they'd come back really fast.

Someone should play some old Police songs. I don't have the chord vocabulary to do Andy Summers, myself..but I'd love to hear some of that stuff live. Tunes like "Every Breath you Take" or "King of Pain" or "Wrapped around your finger" or "Message in a Bottle".

Whew, this is getting to be quite the extensive list.

The list looks pretty good right now, but I'd better not be the only one singing that night...

Hey BP,

now THIS is just a great idea! Since y'all are putting together the details of the thing:

first off, when will 'the band' be playing? I assume after 9 p.m. when all the other formalities are done.

So, if 9 p.m. (or thereabouts) is 'kick off' time, how long do we have the country club to do this? Midnight? etc.?

that might be a deciding factor in how many tunes, which tunes, and efficient use of time.

Yeah, I know. I just said 'efficient use of time' and we're talking about a group of musicians.....

hey! stop throwing tomatoes! :)

How about the 2112 short version from the All the World's a Stage album? I'd be in for that . What do you do about the singing?

I don't have that live album but I'd buy it and learn it. Maybe Pete or Nick DuBaldo could sing it?

Maybe Lucious can sing Geddy Lee?

.. or Jack, if we replace his Ketel One with moonshine early in the evening.

"Message in a Bottle" or "So Lonely" could come back real fast, though it's been a while (played them in high school, oh, 25 years ago. :p )

Steve - you and I share a birthday - perhaps we should share the stage?

Every day I read more about the open house, the more upset I become that I cannot make it!!!

Those songs are right up my alley, too. Throw in Red Barchetta and I might have the big one! Shoot. I hope all of you guys who are going have a fantastic time for those of us who can't.

That would be great if it could be pulled off.
