Guilty pleasures!

I also like John Williams aand James Horner soundtracks. I've got dozens of them!!!

One of my kids came home singing 'What's new pussycat' the other day, so we've been having a bit of a Tom Jones thing going on here recently!

Great voice mind you now!:D

Lucious,

What a great post made me laugh so hard, 30 years, same length of time I have been taken it, trust me the love will always be there. Plus now I have a new love to add to it, a new Luke for Christmas!

Always a FAN.

Beagle:)

i can't really call it a 'guilty' pleasure, because the songwriting and playing is so great, but i dig a lot of richard marx's stuff, especially "rush street." that album is full of great playing, and players! luke, marcus miller, the late jeff porcaro, terry bozzio, randy jackson, tons of others... really good record if you can convince those around you to leave you alone to enjoy it! haha!

hey guys

as I re read my post I hope I didnt sound like a bitter old putz, the written word never conveys the meaning . I was kidding and taking the piss outta myself. I have weird sense of humour that Biff will attest to. hahaha I am also a huge music fane of ALL styles and a good tune is a good tune and a great player is a great player in any arena at ANY gig whether it is a wedding gig or a stadium gig . I have heard some unreal players in a hotel bar so ya never know who is listening so always try and throw your best sh*t down!
I am a bit self deprecating. or was that defacating. hahaha in any event I am very honored to have had such a long carreer and I GET the joke believe me! hahaha
Hope y'all have a great day and I will dig ya later!
Lucious

i don't know if i would consider anything i listen to a "guilty pleasure" i know that there are things that people would definately laugh at, but i'm not embarrassed of anything...

Hey, I have been taking **** for BEING in toto for 30 YEARS! hahaha No worries mate. I am used to it by now and I get the joke. Hell, I also have done ALOT of other stuff that non toto fans like, so thats cool, but hating toto is a rite of passgae, especially for pure metal heads and rock critics. Funny thing is they have never heard anything but the top 40 stuff we have done so, 30 million records later who gets the last laugh????
Me. hahahaha
The thing IS, the people that give you sh*t about it would LOVE to have my job so.. f*ck them! I am quite sure that they are better than me or all of us for that matter and they tell EVERYONE they can at there Mailbox inc. job and still live with mom and dad ...at 45 years old! hahahaha
Kidding.... hahahaha
Thanks for the love and back atcha!
lucious

I'm just starting to get into TOTO now (yeah, I'm pretty slow :D )

I just don't get why people want to categorise someone for the music that they choose to play or listen to. If you're out there and doing it surely that's a good thing?

I know what you mean about people giving critiques though, everyones an expert, although a lot of them never actually manage to get in front of a crowd. Must be because no-one recognises their musical genius :D .

Personally, I'd love to do what you've done. The only thing that's stopping me is a complete lack of any discernible talent!!!

Good Morning

Jimmy, truth is EVERYONE is a genius and EVERYONE sucks! If we make those rules than everyone wins. hahaha
Its like asking the blind guy who the hottest chick in the room is. He would say "the one with the biggets T... well you get my drift, for you girls its the biggest D... oh never mind! haaha
Havin fun doin a new solo record and they still pay me to play guitar and MUSIC MAN guitars no less! I am a lucky M.F. and I know it
God Bless y'all and have a great day

I must confess............

I am a complete Bee Gees, ELO, and ABBA junkie.

This past Christmas, my two best gifts were the ABBA Complete Studio Recordings box set and the Bee Gees Studio Albums 1967-1968!

Also love Supertramp, Maggie Reilly, Renaissance, Roy Wood's Wizzard, and Todd Rundgren's Utopia!

Hi Ritchie-
Re; ABBA and the Bee Gees - good crafted pop songs, great arrangements & production. Seems like everybody in the world knows at least one song from each. Not a bad legacy.

I love Renaissance! and am fond of Todd Rundgren - recently, I listened to a couple of songs from "A Wizard, A True Star" - the medley "La La Means I love You" and "Just One Victory".

Sorry so late to the party. ;)

I'm really happy to see that I'm not the only one who will list ABBA as my guilty pleasure. I'll also admit to the "Grease" and "West Side Story" soundtracks. I guess that's what happens when one is raised by parents who were into musicals. :)

Oh, I almost forgot... Luke rules!

A band that I was listening in the 80' and they come around here at their last tour 2 or 3 years ago is SAGA. A progressive band who don't evolve a lot during all these years but I like their style of music.

John Mayer - Continuum

There I said it! My wife and kids listened to this friggin' album OVER AND OVER for the last month. Now I do the same. I am hooked!

I have no idea why I like it so much but it is a really good cd.

BTW, the man may play mainly bubblegum pop/rock (Dave Matthews musak according to a friend) but he is one hell of a guitarist IMO

Guilty Pleasures

Guilty pleasures.
Anything BUBBLE GUM..:D I find I'm drawn like a magnet to that stuff..:o
I think the reason why is the great beat and usually happy topics of the lyrics. Yummy Yummy Yummy I got Love in my tummy:eek:

Mountain - all their albums in my collecton . Starting to really date myself here.
ABBA - Just love the music.
MOVE - Just an awsome band with awsome players. Also starts dating me..

Guilty pleasures:o :o :o

Fun Thread. Among my cd collection: Not one, but TWO Spice Girls albums, Hanson (yes, Hanson-they had good melodies AND played their own instruments) and I also like Beyonce's new album. Go figure...
