Luke, you're a breath of fresh air. Art. What a concept!

I do consulting work for an art company in Holland. The artist (now deceased) did absolutely everything his own way. He was the devil and the angel, depending on who you talked to and when. Ya can't read or believe your own press if you're an artist, or if you do - like you said - you have to have thick skin.

Glad you have some chill time coming.

Oh, my hidden pearl band - Spirit.

As luke said, it's all subjective.

I dig great bands like Toto, King's X, Rush etc etc.

But then l dig bands like Nickelback, Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls.

And the last 3 bands get a beating (esp. Nickelback) from fans of like Dream Theater (not meaning to single anyone out), cause it's not technically challenging, some of the best songs are 4 chord chunkers, hell how can they bag Nickelback and then say a band like AC/DC rule in the same sentence, they use pretty much the same chords over and over, and same song structure.

I'm a DT fan, and I like Nickelback. I just don't like AC/DC. :p Kinda sucks being a DT fan and Linkin Park fan (Excited for new album). It's almost like it's not allowed.

Luke Is My Hero!!!

I'm so uncool that I like that bassist for the Tyler Dow Bryant band.

Also, I once had a Amy Grant CD and I really liked one song a lot - "Find a Way", I think it was.

Don't worry Tyler, everyone here is open minded, and loves all things music.

+1, Luke!

Well said - and exactly what I'm trying to get across to my kids.....
(although maybe not quite in those words...);)

I've found my self jammin to Handel's Messiah, Raffi, Ladysmith Black Mombazo, a few of my 13 year old's Hip-Hop tunes and everything in between - if it's played with heart and it floats your boat, rock on!

I love Andreas Vollenweider's first several albums (the ones from the 80's and early 90's).

I admit to having some of those myself. Along with Metallica, Def Leppad, Uriah Heep, Janis Joplin, Earl Klugh, David Sanborne, Chick Corea, Billy Idol, Lorena McKenitt, Steve Morse and the Dixie Dregs (of course!) and many others in my very eclectic mix.
