I'm just thankful to be apart of this community, that being said I don't think this thread is going to last much longer.

Glenn and all...First off I undersatnd its a forum...I also understand that much bitching is about guitars and colors that nobody had or had any intention of buying.

Willith Its ball family reserve.....you only get four colors. Sorry...Id consider adopting you if all of your threads didnt end up in mayhem. Thats a hint.....try to play a little nicer here....thank you...

Glenn I turned the tables last time and said I would make a forum guitar to stop[ the bitching and moaning about what you guys couldnt have and guess what? NObody could agree...I know when I say Ill do it I know that I will never have to do it because you guys will chew on it and never agree and half the ringleaders when it came timefor the check they would be in the bathroom....NOt making fun or demeaning its just the facts....WE have never offered more in a year and Id go broke trying to please everybody.

Different colors don't make your tone any better!

Just take a look at other manufacturers and examine the colors and options that they offer. Not nearly as much.

We're just spoiled, and oftentimes, we act it.

I own 1 EBMM right now, and hopefully 1 more in the near future. 1 guitar of many EBMM models and options plus dozens of choices. Not so bad if you look at it that way.

Um, what is this "classic series" that's been mentioned a few times in this thread?

Thats what I keep saying. And its the truth!

I disagree.......................my green Dargie makes me play and sounds way better than any color I have ever had! :p

I agree with Rob and Steve. The Dargie just makes you think you play better :p

I'd be happy if all of my EBMM guitars were offered in just a handful of colors. It's the tone and playability that matters. Color is an afterthought. I don't see people choosing not to buy the 25th Anniversary guitars or basses because there's only one color option. I would have bought one no matter what the color as long as the tone and feel was the same.

Big Poppa and crew spoil us with some of the coolest stuff out there, PLUS way more color options than anyone else. There are 3 different *BLACK* finishes currently, 4 if you include BFR models. Kinda makes the decision harder if you know what I mean.

hahahaha, there we are with Black again....BP knows very well why there are several "black" options ;)

It' just like that Heavy Metal kid said in the guitar shop: "Man, I don't care about which color that axe comes in...as long as it is black" :D

I'm not trying to stir anything up here, but everyone keeps going back to the spoiled thing. Its getting a bit tired. We're paying for the guitars and some of them aren't cheap, so where's the spoiling going on? EB does give the choice of cool limited runs and such, but people are paying an upcharge for those, correct? Thats just my .02.

Im not signaling you out but honestly your post had the best argument :)

We are indeed paying for the guitars but in the grand scheme of things this is a business and Poppa needs to do what is best for the business. There are other guitar companies that will let you pick everything down to the colour of the nut but you will pay a whole hell of a lot more money versus what you are paying EB. Mr Smith will charge you around $10k for a 7 string oh you want piezos doh thats an upcharge oh you want the piezo and a floating trem *CACHING* that's another upcharge...

My point is for a business the size of EB they offer ALOT and I seriously doubt Poppa breaks even on everything he offers. I am all for getting what I want, I won't argue that point one bit, but I am also well aware that some things just aren't in the cards. Poppa and company come up with some really nice instruments and combinations and yes you pay an upcharge for some of them but its nowhere near what other guitar makers charge. The "spoiled" part comes from the fact that Poppa , dargin, A.J. spend a TON of time on these boards listening to what we have to say and doing what he can. Its not something you will find on other boards. Not to mention how often we get sneak peeks at the new toys coming out. Hell, what about the knucklehead gatherings EB and Poppa have done in the past... while I haven't had the pleasure of going I have seen enough pics to know that Poppa dropped some serious $$$ on that.

The truth is we are spoiled

EB's staff spending time on these boards isn't being spoiled, its excellent customer service. I do think that Sterling paying for for this forum is extremely cool and such, and while I may not agree with everything EB does, its business.
