I have serious G.A.S. Heres the situation, i have 2 Stingrays but i really want a Bongo 5-string. Will i regret selling my Rays to get a Bongo or will it be better? You know how bsd G.A.S can be right ? ;-)
How much do you love your Rays? That's the question. Technology has developed since the seventies, and one might easily be tempted to put forward arguments for the "betterness" of the Bongo, but at the same time, it will not do the sig Ray sound.
A better idea may be to do every legal thing you can to obtain some more money, and keep one of the Rays, like legally selling your body (I don't know how), legally killing those that you will get the inheritance from (sorry, don't know how) and other legal stuff.
Keep it legal, and buy a Bongo. Simples.
It's a beast, and everyone in his/her right mind must own at least one. I'm going for 36 or 72 of them - haven't decided yet.
best,

When I saw SR H I said like wtf - only bridge PU, I like to play the neck position. But when I got my own I realized that PU placement is just perfect. Nothing to say. And now I'm single H worshipper.Of course, the pickup placement on the 5H is different than on the HS and HH, so it is almost a different instrument sound-wise.
Bert, I'm pretty sure you're a guy and yet I think we could have a beautiful life together.
That spot is the "sweet spot" that everyone loves. The bongo HH and HS have the pickups closer to the bridge, but the single H has it in that sweet spot. That's not to say that the bongo HH doesn't sound awesome, but it doesn't have that sweet spot. When I saw SR H I said like wtf - only bridge PU, I like to play the neck position.
