Not anyone here that wouldn't love that gig, or enjoyed your playing. Bigger picture to me was that it wasn't that good of a song. I mean, that girl is talented vocally, but not so much at picking good songs to record. Has the best music already been recorded maybe? Or are we really 'that' conditioned to be fans of simple minded material.

Please don't get me wrong. Your bass sounds great, and I'd give you my lunch (and then some!) to have a shot at a gig like that. I was just disappointed in how familiar the material seemed to be. There has been some cutting edge country material recorded lately (Zac Brown Band comes to mind). But Lauren's choice in what she wants to record is a "hop on the bandwagen" type thing to my ears. I've already heard it a million times.

I'll go and read the rest of the posts now.

Nah man. You're right on it and many many days I feel like I'm flipping burgers in the studio. Bp keeps telling me to shut up and that I've forgotten what real work is. I'm trying to listen to him. I'm not sure why.

Kids....this is what the people want....you must consider this...look at the best selling guitars made in 3rd world countries....they dont want mine....look at the great food and look at what the masses buy...music is no different and the product responds to the market. Thats fine....because there are Music Man's Rodney Crowells, MAK Grills and all the other really good stuff.

Reminds me of my friend who just got back from Thailand. When I asked her how the food was, she said, "Oh, it was great--they had western style restaurants at the hotels, so that wasn't a problem."

Who goes to Thailand to eat at the hotel Sizzler?

I continue to be surprised and pleased by the Slap tones that are just native to the Big Al. There's multiple different killer slap vibes just laying there waiting to come out.

Maybe it's just that I like burgers, but I liked it!
