ok... stupid question but how does hand rubbing the finish differ then the way you finish the standard Axis? Is there an advantage such as it brings out the quilt better or something? Are the tops going to be cherry picked for these like the BFR guitars or is it the luck of the draw? Just curious because I am really going to have to work hard to convince the GF that I need one of these.

Hey Stratty,

Just tell her whatever she needs to hear. Ten percent of each sale goes to whatever she is into. I would tell Wendy that it was going to help, I don't know, animal shelters, or something.

As a backup plan, I am definitely getting her some nice diamond earrings for xmas this year...I have two EBMMs on layaway, and now I desire a third...I have to come up with something, don't I?!?

Have a great day, Bro...

P.S. - Am I going to hell for all these fibs I tell the 'ol lady?

My goodness. All of those guitars are beauties. It's too bad they are a limited run and I wish they could have been closer to the price of the regular Axis models. Because of that I'm out of the running this time. Have to keep my eyes open when I'm sure some will come on the used market.

Scott, that $2750 is list price. Street price should be just a tad more than a regular Axis.

Only thing is you can only buy them in the US.

Thanks, Jeff. I thought that was street price. Yeah, the U.S./GC only deal kind of puts a wrench into our plans.

A regular Axis with Floyd and matching headstock lists for $2650.00. The Axis Tribute lists for $2750.00 (Except Sunburst)and comes with the upgraded case.

Remember that if this goes nuts then Guitar Center will order more.....or it may be one of the next premier dealer deals. If you read Dereks and Glens posts they are clear that we are leaving open the chance that we may make more.

And now my callin out...arrrrghhhh...certain people armchair run the place and it makes me scarce...claiming 900 paint job....then people believe it as fact....we are just trying to make guitars.

The ad says that birdseye maple necks on "select guitars". Just wondering if that means select colors or just some of the guitars at random. I ordered two and sure hope they have nice figuring in them.

No guitar sells for the MSRP price, MAP or Street Price is what you are looking for. I believe Glen made it clear these will sell for a little over $100 more than what you would pay for an Axis (except for Sunburst) plus you get the up graded case. I will go on a limb and say that these will fly off the racks awfully fast. I will be up in Philly in November and will be looking forward to meeting both Derek and Glen, as well as grabbing one of these bad boys!
