Yeesh, that's gonna make things crowded. I'm working on tickets for Alabama or Ole' Miss on the surrounding weekends- figured I'd make a week out of Baton Rouge.

With that tid bit of information I'm wondering if hotels and flights prices will be higher?

Flights most likely not, most people drive to the games at LSU, now hotels thats another story, lots of people stay over, the tailgating factor;)

Just bring your sleeping bags.

I'm sure Brandt, at the "Perfect Guitar/Bass", will let us sleep in his showroom!

In fact, let's negotiate - anyone who has purchased a guitar or bass from him in the past gets the top bunk.:)

If that's the case I probably get a private suite.

Koogs!
I cannot believe you are not more familiar with cars. I would never have guessed.
Janice

How about Raleigh, NC?

Let's see....Paul Warren has a school there.
North Carolina BBQ is to die for.
Cars is the only sticking point....not familiar with cars other than I drive them.

Just got back with james via email...Gustav basically clobbered Baton Rouge. They are anticipating being without power for 6 weeks. It hit them harder than Katrina. The media has only reported that New Orleans survived but ignored the damage inflicted to the rest of the fine state of Louisiana.

He has asked that we patiently wait until minday to see if it is at all possible to host this thing. In the mean time I will scramble to find a plan B on those dates in the south somewhere for those who have bought tickets.....

Thanks for the update BP, sad the media does not cover all cities affected, hopefully we can have it there to help with economic recovery, already bought my tickets into BR, got a great deal, but will change them to where ever we go.

From what I've heard, most airlines will allow you to transfer your tickets to any location.

Sorry to hear about the damage in Baton Rouge. I hope they are getting the aid they need.

Biloxi MS Hard Rock Casino is 2 hours away by car.

Knucklehead Beach Bash 08 in Pensacola FL is 3 by car.

Minday it is then ;)

Yeah the national news was full of broadcasters, reporters and "other" people giving thanks (thumbing their noses (that's a joke people)) that Gustov missed N.O. I guess to the media, the rest of Louisiana (LA) didn't exist.

Still...
The fact that you're considering a plan B, or otherwise....
Pure class.

I also like the idea of helping with the economic recovery. Kind like raising our middle fingers to salute and saying, "Screw You Gustov! We're gonna have a party here and there's not a damn thing you can do about it!"

I'll go to Home Depot and loot a generator to run the amps (again, a joke) and make admission 10 gallons of drinking water. Just tell everyone to pack their camping gear.

Hey Brandt@TPB,
While your out keep your eyes open for a felled hardwood tree. When the tornado went through Nashville in '96 a poplar tree blew down in front of the Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home). A guitar manufacture got the tree and made some guitars out of it. Man, they were B-E-A-utiful.

Even when Katrina basically swept away the Mississippi Gulf Coast, New Orleans got all the press because it's a more "news popular" city. Don't get me wrong, I love New Orleans, but it always bothered me that MS was hardly mentioned in the news...it was really bad here folks. My parents were down there and immediately moved after going thru several weeks with no power, no water, and no roof! They said they never want to go thru something like that again.

One of my brothers lives in Baton Rouge and told me it is a mess. These storms really disrupt families and bring out the worst and absolute best in people. Send some prayers and or good vibes to these people because it is really tough and they need all the positive energy they can get.

Don, I work with people in Pascagoula, I've been down there and to New Orleans, I hear you man. I was not prepared for what I saw, the news coverage didn't show the real truth. One of my co-workers down there rode the whole thing out, he's lucky to be alive.

Sterling, thanx for the update it's much appreciated. How about Tennesse, Country Western Capital? Just a suggestion.
