I hope New Orleans survives Gustav.

I hope the whole gulf does; I work as a paramedic, and I was down there immediately after Katrina for 2 weeks. New Orleans was a mess because of the flooding, but most of the Mississippi Coast was smashed flat for miles inland; you never hear about Mississippi because it isn't a high profile place. We already have strike teams headed out there, and I will probably be going next week if it hits hard.

We're in Broomfield - I still haven't looked to see exactly how far Centennial is from us, but I know I can speak for my wife in saying that she'd be glad to check in on your teenagers while we're at the bash! (if you don't opt to take them along.) But I'd also understand if having someone just "checking in" wouldn't necessarily give you the "warm fuzzy" you're after as the parent of one or more teenagers.
