I just think it's more of a thing for you forum guys

I hate to tell you this, but you're a forum guy. Check the stats, bro - who are the top two mofos around this weird joint?

So I think you need to be prepared to sling a guitar. Last time I checked, there are three whole verses to "Little Sister". A short, blazing solo after each verse gives you, NorM and Dudley a chance to burn the house down. It's fate! It's destiny!

Ben and I are still scheduled to arrive at 3 pm, but we're going to hit the airport early to see if we can scam some standby seats in order to arrive at the Firestone in time to swap lies and so on.

I'll call you via landline before then, but dammit, make sure you have a pick in your pocket Friday night. You guitarists use picks, right?

I'm still up for Alice Cooper's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" with Randracula on bass.. if time permits. I do need a DuBaldo to sing it, though.. either one will do! ;)

If I need to be cut, I won't be offended. But I'll show up ready to play.

Mr Bov...I will still play Little Sister if needed...I just think it's more of a thing for you forum guys, and I would rather you all have the stage because the weekend is for you guys.

BTW you need to call me soon, so we can plan the airport times and such.

BTW #2 I did catch that John Lennon reference in case nobody else did

Get tune reference - check! :D

On my ONE SONG (not that I'm pointing out anything here), <snip>

The "song list" was culled from various posts and it sounds like some were left off inadvertently--probably didn't catch them all. Especially if they were in different threads. If your name and tunes weren't on the list, this is the time to remedy that. Now is not the time to be shy. If you want to play, step on up and tell us the tune and the name(s) of your 'playmates'. ;)

+1 on encouraging BP, Jon, Dudley et al to put a bid in to play. It seems to me that these forumites want to play some tunes with you guys. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to share the stage.

If you see me still playing at 2 am, KILL ME because aliens have taken over my brain.

I wouldn't be surprised to see BP and possibly one or two other luminaries have a go during the Forum Jam, but then what do I know?

One song per seems the way to go...

DaveB & I discussed ZZ Tops's "Tush" - all 2½ minutes of it. I could sing if there are no "real" singers... It'll fly, but it might not be pretty!

And there's gotta be someone who can handle lead guitar for basic 12-bar Texas blues!

First off, a great big huge thank you and a shiny gold star to both Tom and Janice for doing the grunt work on this one. I have (in the past) organized several jams completely via email with people who had never played together.

From my experience, we had a song list of about 40 songs, and it took about 4 hours to do around 25 songs, since everyone had to change places, re tune, etc. yadda yadda yadda..... you all get the drift. I think the idea of having 'bands' is very efficient.

I am not participating in the jam. I will be an audience person.

However, in the interests of keeping the drummer happy and loose, here's MY contribution:

I used to be a professional massage therapist. I'm offering a shoulder & arm rub to John if he wants, since he is going to be THE work horse of this event.

HOLD THE PHONE VICTROLA! Dont forget Big Poppa......My right shoulder will need some work from hefting the Gong mallet.

Hey guys this is one of the funniest threads ever! I got an idea why dont we all try to agree on a forum LTD edition while we are figuring the set lists. After that we can tackle social security.....

any of you guys that are playing a song with more than three chords with guys youve never heard play before will greatly resemble 5 monkeys humping a football. Future gongees!

Thanks a ton Thom and janis

Tommy, if it comes down to one song each, I'll keep the Whipping Post slot, and pass on playing with TNT (Mike Teves).

He and I already play jams in the Bay Area, and will have plenty of other opp's to play together.

And (BTW), a big THANKS to everybody putting all of this together, from BP on down!

Got a woody just thinking about all the upcoming fun!

Seems to me the "one song per" exception might have to be for the vocalist... :p

Tommy / Janice - awesome you taking the lead here and I'm sure everyone appreciates the effort. BP offers amazing perspective on how this thing could potentially go down (the monkies & the football thing). I think no matter what - it's all gonna be very, very good! :D

Now if we can nail this down we can move on the the Forum LTD model - still gots a few days to go! ;)

I'm still up for some vox. If anyone wants me to do a song that I at least know how it goes just get me some lyrics... :D

Yup, same here - I'll leave the string wanking to better knuckleheads than I...

I'll start getting some lyrics sheets ready.

A Logan Green Bongo?

Okay, probably just some ice and something to shake 'em in. Thanks for being so thoughtful! I'm going to TRY to hold it to a minimum in order to stay aware, but a late night martini at Chez Juan sounds purdy good.
