HOLD THE PHONE VICTROLA! Dont forget Big Poppa......My right shoulder will need some work from hefting the Gong mallet.

Hey guys this is one of the funniest threads ever! I got an idea why dont we all try to agree on a forum LTD edition while we are figuring the set lists. After that we can tackle social security.....

any of you guys that are playing a song with more than three chords with guys youve never heard play before will greatly resemble 5 monkeys humping a football. Future gongees!

Thanks a ton Thom and janis

What's a forum LTD?

Alrighty, Big Poppa. I guess I can hardly say no to you, since you are THE man. *formal Japanese bow*

5 monkeys humping a football?

Wow.

There's a visual.

My vote for a forum LTD:

Albert Lee in buttercream w/b/w pickguard and cream colored single coil pickups and natural peghead.

or

A Bongo shaped guitar in neon green

I'ma likin' the sound of this forum LTD idea. Could it potentially be EBMM #2 for me? Are you really considering it BP?

I think I can speak with some background on this question, and the answer is "Hell no." The idea got all sparked up over on the bass forum and no one could agree to anything and this was without anyone official saying it maybe could be done.

Try it over here and see. If forty people respond to the thread, you'll get nearly forty different ideas, some of them bordering on insanity, as to what the Limited Edition Forum guitar should be.

In the end, IF it could be done, it would still end up being something like a non-stock color. We're not going to talk the factory into re-tooling in order to install gear shifts, monkey heads, non-stick cookware, etc etc etc.

But I'm telling you - even with just a color, it would be tough to get agreement and then actual money down.

I haven't given up, although I might be lying about that.

Guys 'n Gals..

The Forum LTD was an idea that BP had, knowing that we'd never agree on an exact set of specs for the instrument. (i.e. a limited edition instrument only available to forumites)

I think it's a dead horse, as the Open House replaced it as a way for BP to thank us for being such rabid EBMM fans, even if we *are* knuckleheads.

If I'm wrong, I'd like the forum LTD to be a Silo (any color) with a Petrucci trem! :D

Don't know about you guys but if given a choice between this open house thing and a forum LTD, it's not even close. I got plenty of guitars.

Open house is extremely thoughtful of them to do for us!

The Forum LTD thing was done on the guitar side at the sametime and that's why it never happened. No one could agree, to bad too, I remember a thread were BP had been pondering doing it, but left to our own doing we'll shoot ourselves in the foot everytime.

The Open House is a unbelievable jesture on BP and EBMM's part. I for one am glad to be able to participate.

Did anyone else see that it's in the EB news??? http://www.ernieball.com/site/news.php?id=210

The forum ltd wasn't my idea. I responded that I didnt feel you guys could agree om anything. Finally, I said yes knowing that I was originally right and your would have passionate pleas and no concensus. I put ltd in the song thread because it reminded me of it. It was a joke.

The open house was separate. Here is the deal....you come to slo let us try to blow your minds and then you post everywhere what a great company we are and get more people to join the EB family.

FOr all of you unable to attend we will be filming the WHOLE thing including knucklehead jam in HD video. I may have to get a second job to pay for this party.....

BP,

I hear that Dude is hiring EBMM sales reps. :D

Really looking forward to meeting everyone in just a few days! I've already told a dozen or so local players about the Open House, and their jaws are still scraping the ground.

A good friend of mine has a teenage boy who wants to start playing guitar. I have him 85% convinced to buy a SUB1 instead of one of those 'jumpstart' kits. I'll get the other 15% when I return from SLO..

And of course, my JP6 is prominently featured in my band's professional photos!

BP, sorry, I guess I missed the joke there. I figured that it would have been near impossible to pull off anyway and make anything on them, but enough said.

I'm very appreciative of the chance to check out EBMM and I have no problems posting what an awesome company you guys are, and I haven't even seen it yet. :D

Can't wait to see the video, well maybe not. Ha  Will you be passing the hat at the concerts???

Thanx, Glenn |B)

Yikes.

For dress code questions, I believe I heard that this is a country club and no denim would be appreciated. From Blair's email that was chock full of info:

"Friday night is at a Country Club…Please wear appropriate clothing, preferably something other than jeans."

I think we should supplement this item by adding "Music Man instruments, in lieu of trousers, shirt, or both, is *not* proper attire for the country club. Please reserve such outfits for the factory tour, provided that closed-toe shoes are also worn."
