We think we'll offer it in both rosewood and maple. Matching will most likely be mandatory. We shot a few non burst colors, but none of them were exciting. This was the first burst we shot. Our paint supplier sent us a boat load of samples, and on this bass in particular Dudley saw it and came up with the idea to "tobacco burst" it.

Gold Hardware

Ad
You dont want to blow this thing out of proportion and then you post a picture of an antique banjo with worn gold hardware? SHoue I post a 50 chevy with flaky chrome?

Stating that plating can wear out..... ANY plating does. For this you get master of the obvious award forSaturday Novemember Tenth in the year two thousand and seven!.

I have read about your brand z gold hardware at least twice and have read your preference towards chrome...

posting drastic examples of bad gold is not very helpful and plants a seed of negativity that we havent earned. " "Im not saying that EBMM's gold will wear but look at these examples!!!!"

THis may come as a shock but they have made plating advances since that banjo was made.

Has anyone had a problem with their plating on the 2006LE?

We face challenges when trying to select the LE's....the first few years are no brainers...it gets harder and harder to top yourself while not ripping off vintage Fender and Gibson finishes and meet expectations....... especially here where the expectations grow with each step we make.

WE actually understand that not everyone will like what we choose..just like some may not like grandmas liver and onions.....(except for uncle BOB....YUMMY!)

I would like the consideration of memers to not hijack threads to support their already repeated personal preference or bias for one feature or another...Feel free to start a "I hate gold hardware" but make sure you use ebmm banjos because I dont pay for bandwith for others instruments.....Just a little joke fella's and broads.

Gold Hardware Rocks, When it wears it looks even better, but if you don't like it don't whine, just don't buy it.
Who knows what the future may hold but as a Collector & a player, I assume in 20 to 30 years from now some kids gonna be on ebay, saying Holly sh... I got 5 grand for this beat too hell black music man bass that said 2006 Limited Edition on the back of it and all the shiny stuff was worn to the Brass, lmao.

If you put that color on a Bongo 6 H BP. You will be needing to call the wife again since that worked so well the last time. :D

You may want to call her on the price of Gold. She deals in that BP. :)

Every time adouglas rants about gold hardware it makes me want to punch a koala bear...

Leave the Koala out of it... ;)

It's gotta be tough trying to top yourself each year. If nothing else, an LE should be unique and special... I'm diggin' Root beer or what ever we're calling it. When do we see the whole enchilada!?

My first post....

Hello everyone.

I've been lurking here for ages, and had to join and chime in. Between the new LE color and Sterling 5 news, I have a need to open my channels for discussion and support as my wife really isn't a sympathetic listener anymore and my kids are just too young to care at this point.

I've been coming here every day to see what the new LE will look like, mainly, what the PG will be on that bad boy. I mean, that's the real challenge, what to top that color off with, an 'adonized' looking guard might look cool too. I'm still kicking myself over missing out on the Buttercream basses, which should be a standard color me thinks.

It's cool to be here, I mean between the bass porn, bass talk, and basses yet to come, what's not to love.

Cheers,
MK

I wrote up the NAMM Bongo 6 / LE order yesterday. The LE's we will show are a Luke, Bongo 6, and Sterling HS. Maybe we'll switch it up and change the Sterling to a Sterling 5 HS...
