Actually not having a problem at all. I've only had my Sterling about 2 months and absolutely love it, but not used to playing without an anchor point for my thumb. My technique is not impeded without a thumb rest but thought it might possibly be enhanced with one. I'm 57 years old and have had the priviledge of playing with excellent musicians and bands over the years. If my technique isn't accomplished at this point, it never will be.
I was just adding my 2 cents to the wish list of everybody else. This thread is about a criticism you might have of your Music Man bass. I actually don't have any other than thinking it would be nice if EB offered a pickguard with thumbrest option for my Sterling. As I now think about it, it would be smarter for me to just order a spare pickguard and play around with it until I find something I like.
