Thanks to Glenn I've just read the official open house thread...
I checked the schedule and the first event is at the winery...
I don't mind that, but I'm afraid winery would mind my being there... I'm only 20...
What do you think?

I'm in a similar boat to a lot of the other overseas EBMMers in that I just can't quite make it from England at this point in the year. I recently been on a holiday to NYC and I'm moving house in a couple of weeks and need to buy furniture and stuff.

Still doing my bit for Ernie tho as I just got a buttercream Luke. :D

I hope it proves real popular as I fear that with all the time and expense BP is putting into this, if it's not a success...it may not happen again next year when I may actually be able to go. :(

Koogs, sorry u can't make it either but I wanna say thanks for making the trip over here and helping us brits out too. I know it's ur job, but it's appreciated dude.

Koogs, sorry you won't be able to make it. Was looking forward to meeting you. There will be another get together I'm sure. Heck we hang here everyday anyway. Thanks to you and your bros for what you do.

koogs, thanks for all you do for us and U.S.

You will be missed

Oh I don't have a problem with not drinking, but around here I can't even walk into places like that, every place cards at the door... That was my concern.

I wake up to find NO KOOGS.

And in harms way to boot?

Anyone care to join me in a big toast to Koogie at the winery? :)
(even though I don't drink the swill)

Not sure how many of you have met Koogs, but he's a stand up guy with much better stories than most...and probably can't even tell the REALLY interesting ones.

Glad Glenn is making it. Didn't you snag the CLB axis? Thant's worth a toast as well. :D

You know -

I haven't read this thread since shortly after it started because it kept bumming me out that I can't go. I wish all of you guys who are going the best of times and request that you really enjoy yourselves for the rest of us who want to go but can't. :(

Also, most importantly, whose bringing their laptop so as to keep those unfortunate of us informed about the festivities? And don't forget your digital cameras either! ;)

Hey kids

there are only 40 of you who have signed up.....rub elbows with the guys and gals that make and play your favorite guitars.......Lukather, Morse, Petrucci, Vinnie....ccome on it
is too good to pass up....How many times do you regret the things you didn't do?

Believe me it is painful having to pass that up, it is even more painful seeing all those great guitarists there and the opportunity to meet them.

Right now - no can do- my wife would have my nads in a jar beside the night table if I bought the plane ticket and booked the hotel room.

Hook, tell her that it'll be your Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary, being a loving husband present. Work whatever angle you gotta work. Never hurts to try.

Sorry, but I can't resist: do you have any Balls that weren't made in SLO? :D

Seriously, though, try selling her on the excellent treatment that you'll receive in SLO. Good food, good wine, good people.. how can she say no to that? All you have to do is get there & get a roof over your head!

I negotiated the details with my wife for the bachelor weekend on a budget and signed up last night. Although it will cost me a "romantic" getaway weekend in October for our anniversary. But after 18 years its probably worth it :)

What will get my nads in a jar is when I come home and say "but honey, this really nice guy named Keith really had to sell his black Morse. It was so sparkly I just couldn't resist, plus I needed to compare it to the new Morse that I.......OK here they are  :D

See Jon - I've gotta work out the permission/forgiveness thing on a long range
basis ;)

Hey..Whatever works right? Glad you will be able to make it.....Is she going to let you take the nads to SLO, or is she gonna hold them hostage until October?

we are now at 54....35 forumites and 19 freeloaders!

You know, that sounds like a good name for a band! Big Poppa and the Forumites. I can see it all now; cool gigs at all the best California clubs. :D And of course nothing but EBMM Equipment. Which I guess means Big Poppa needs to produce a new line of drums.

Wishful thinking...

After 18 years of marriage she pretty much keeps them until she's ready for me to use them, and occasionally I get to take them out for a cleaning and tune up. Maybe I'll sneak them out in the overnight bag - hopefully the X-Ray guy at the airport will understand and just smile :) .

I thought you mentioned a few threads back you might be thinning the herd and possibly selling your Morse to replace with a new one. I almost sent you a PM but I'm still on the fence. Still haven't played one and still thinking about the Y2D. Maybe after the open house when I've seen 'em all I'll have a better idea what I really want next.
