Agreed. After a fairly exhaustive test drive over the last 3 days I now understand what all the fuss is about.
I’m very pleased to join the EBMM ranks. The only real problem is, now I’m looking at L4 hard tails for alternate tuning scenarios lol

Was it in the mono case pocket inside the manila envelope that had the tremolo bar and springs or somewhere else?
It was in the mono case pocket, though not in the manila with the tools/spring/etc. Rather, it was in a fancy embossed envelope placed in the same pocket as the manila.

Bummer. Appears mine got left out of my case. Emailed support and will try and get it. Thanks for responding.

Hi guys, would appreciate if you could help me to figure out the differences between the LIII and L4 models.
Two things I’m aware of:
- the larger headstock (same size as say the Sabre model)
- HT bridge pickup, both HT single coils on the HSS model
But I can’t seem to find any more info besides this. The body dimensions seem identical, neck identical.
So is there any other differences between the models? Or are the LIII and L4 basically identical besides the headstock size?

I think it is the same headstock size. It was a speculation here based on one of the first photos, and I do not think it confirmed. At least looks same to me from all recent photos ind videos. So it is:
1. HT pickups
2. Roasted alder on SSS models and Limba on the Aniv.
Well and colors and that locking them on the Aniv.

NGD and social/work life collided...will post pics asap.
Hint, HT SSS and a unfinished body.
For those wondering, first impressions are pickups are very loud and punchy..big thank you to AJ and team, View attachment 42537

Love this guitar.

I have seen a few HSS Steamrollers (my L3 is HSS and my gut was to continue with what I know and love with any potential L4 purchase) get posted—they last a day or two at most, as expected. I shared a link to one in this thread earlier—hope one of you all got to grab it, and I will definitely share more live links as I find them.

Despite having ample opportunity to grab one of the Steamrollers, I’ve hesitated because I really love the look of the unfinished SSS that you have here.

How is it playing now after a bit? I really think I may grab this and try something different. What do you all think/can you share any pros and cons of your experience with SSS models?

I've tried not to bug him since I placed the order back in September, but I reached out to my Sweetwater guy yesterday to see if there was any update on the arrival estimate of my Steamroller. Still looking like later this month! 😬

Anyone got any demos of the HT single coils yet? I’m surprised there are no demos on YouTube yet except the few short clips on the EBmM YouTube channel. Also I’m curious if anyone will decide to put a D-Tuna on their steamroller ?

I've always loved SSS pickup config. We saw Toto back earlier this year and it confirmed the sound. Hot rodded s-type sound. The L2 wasn't good at position 2 unless you swapped the PU. L3 was better but to me still hybrid. These HT's are pretty loud and a/b'd to full hum in the bridge it's pretty close.

Wonder if the production units are getting close to 150? Still considering a steamroller...missed out on the 25th. I think Pete told he had one but I passed....dunno..

Oh, and wish they put a black nut on the bareback.

I snagged this one

Awesome--congrats! From what I recall, that one was on the lighter side (for an L4)?

For our other friends looking for live links, this one has been out in the wild for a few days...it still shows as available though, but I would ping them to make sure their postings are up-to-date (CME had their most recent unit of the L4 posted on Reverb for like 5 full days even after their main website showed that it had actually sold within minutes of going up--sheesh!):

For anyone looking for a L4 Steamroller…Guitar Center in La Mesa, CA appears to have one (or some) in store/stock. Been that way for about a week. I am surprised it hasn’t been snagged yet🤷🏾‍♂️
I was there lurking about a week ago and took this picture of it

When I checked online a few days later, it said it was no longer in stock so I assumed somebody had bought it. But looks like it’s back now.

Not sure whats going on with Sweetwater's allocation. GC seems to have them fairly readily available and lots of waiting at SW. Wanted to give them my business and was on an early list, but the wait was too painful as I saw ones in stock at GC.
