great info, food for thought. I had always wondered about those two things, the battery cover metal/plastic. And the neck finish. My 94 has a kind of semi gloss finish to it. It also has the metal battery cover. I prefer the old style finish and for some reason I totally cant defend I prefer the metal battery cover. It's just more chrome ya know?

I'm looking at a bass on ebay. the seller claims its a 95 but it sure doesnt look it. Plastic battery cover and it has the special oil and wax finish on the neck. though it doe shave a pre 98 neck plate and a serial on the bridge. Which is 56323.
any info would be great!

Calaveras, this bass was completed on 9/11/95. The battery boxes have been in use since late 1994.

Did you buy it?

Dan, my friend's got a sweet Stealth Bongo 5-string.

....with serial#: F 13683.

What's the D.O.B, please?

To be honest, I hope that he'll get tired of it and wants to sell it...to me!;)

Sure, that'll happen!!!

Well, it's the first Bongo I have ever tried and now I'm thinking of ways to come up with the funds to get one myself. Somebody know of a "get rich, quick"- scheme ???
