It is indeed a Black HH model.. thanks very much for your help.

Hee, hee, well if I *have* to have a go from time to time then I shall... *sigh* it's hard work, but someone has to do it.

Cheers :)

Luca, welcome and congratulations on your new StingRay 5! The finish is indeed Honeyburst, and the pickguard is shell, which looks good with the rosewood fretboard I know! We shipped this bass to Guitar Center's centrral warehouse on March 14 2007.

Cheers,

Dan

Thanks for the VERY prompt answer :)

The pick guard is indeed awesome, and perfectly matched to the beautiful finish!

Back to taming the 5th string then... :D

Thanks,

I'd like to know a little more about my last buy, a natural finish SR5 HH with a black pickguard. The serial number is E52561. I bought it from GC a couple of months ago. What a sweet bass.

I also have a black pre-EB SR4 that I bought new in 1978 with a serial number of B007195, but I know from other threads that there's not much info you have on those oldies. This old bone rocks and has for years.

Thanks!!

Bassman, that is very interesting how those serial numbers match!

hello Dan,

well that's funny, because i all purchased them as new basses and i bought all of them in musicstores in the Netherlands....

so i suggested that they all came from Voerman....??

another thing about E46633: it seems that it has been shipped a half year AFTER i purchased it.... ???
i bought that bass at this date: 10/19/05

so things seem to become more interesting

but yes, it's a nice collection indeed!

still looking for a NOS sunburst pre-EB though (i prefer a '76, because John Deacon from Queen also bought/got his SR in that year :D)

o yes, i have swapped necks between my natural and black SR last week, so now the black SR has a maple neck and the natural has a rosewood neck :)

greets from Holland

Bassman, that is very interesting how those serial numbers match!

E46633 - 4/26/06 shipped to Bass Central

E60433 - 07/03/07 shipped to Voerman Amesfoort in either Denmark or Holland.

E63633 - 10/10/07 likewisw above!

Nice collection! ;)

Whoops, my bad, E46633 is showing as a 2-band EQ VS
B maple completed on 04/15/05 and also sent to Voerman. I must have gotten in too much of a hurry and fat-fingered the number. Sorry for any confusion ...

OldMan, congratulations on your latest buy!! Our records show it as a StingRay 5 Natural Maple originally sent to the GC Distribution Center on 5/2/06.

Regarding your older pre-EB, you should check Gav's site here: Home - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar (site not monitored, endorsed, nor maintained by EBMM or its employees ...)

Seb, sure, your bass was completed on July 31 2001 and was shipped to Strings & Things Ltd., our U.K. distributor. Our records show it as a 2-band EQ StingRay with a black finish and maple fretboard.

Best,

Dan

Dan, sweet! :D This one is an HS Limited Edition Buttercream, one of the first ones made, which was on 4/1/05. This one was originally shipped to Express Music in Seminole (Tampa) Florida.
