E62669 - StingRay 5 H, Lava Pearl, rosewood matching, black ice pickguard, shipped to Perfect Bass on 5/15/08.

Neil, I can't believe you've never asked either! Your StingRay 5 HH in Honeyburst with a rosewood board and a white pickguard was built on March 2 2006 and was shipped to the U.K.

Regarding your StingRay 4 - look at the bridge between the intonation screws for the number. You need to be in good light.

Hey, that means it was over a year old when I bought it yet Strings and Things told me it was new!! So I reckon Blind Lemon owes me a pint - result!

My SR4 is still in the US on my boat (really, it's a long story) so I can't look at it (let alone play it) to check the serial number. I know I recorded the serial number somewhere for insurance purposes but I can't find the excel file anywhere. I'll have another rummage about on our old PC and get back to you if I find it.
