what would you like to see made for the 2008 limited edition instruments?
i'll start, i'd love to see a black stingray, all black hardware, matching headstock, black neck and frettless with an ebony fingerborad.
or
chrome painted stingray (that would be sick) with a matching headstock.:D

Stealth is already available on Bongos, plus the Black Onyx has been done on Sterlings. I don't see a "death metal scheme" in the future.

As for chrome painted instruments, I think cost would get in the way of that. Though, I would love to see a "Poppa's Chrome Dome" finish. :D

I don't know. I'd love to see more sparkles for the LE this upcoming year, but I have a good feeling that Myung's Flat Silver may be the 08 LE.

If not, I'd love to see swirls or something absolutely crazy!

Bah, it really doesn't matter. I'm ordering the LE next year anyway, regardless of color!

All speculation aside, it is gonna be really amazing to see what BP and the gang pulls out for 2008. 2006-2007 has been a blockbuster time with so much awesome stuff hitting the stores. I doubt I can list them all but what did we get to see?
30th Anniversary SR4s
BFRs
20th Anniversary SR5s
Dargies
Blue Dawn
Wonder Wipes
and the soon to be released:
Bongo 6
Sterling 5
Strap Locks
Wah Pedal

That's enough to put me in debt, thrice over!

TOP THAT ERNIE BALL MUSIC MAN!:p

I would think that the flat silver on Myung's Bongo would be a regular color since its not a sparkle finish or anything. Personally, I'd love to see the mystic dream paint on the 08 LE's.

Seafoam green or Sonic Blue with tort guard. That's just on my wish list. I'm excited to see what the '08 LEs are really going to be.

BIG +1 for Sonic Blue LE's. I likem w/mint guards though . .
I have that color in another brand but would sell it for sure for a Sonic Ray . .

Unsurprisingly, there have been a lot of discussions about colors over the years. Here is what I think I remember about what's been mentioned so far.

1. Stealth. Although this hasn't come up as a finish option for all instruments, it has been done, of course, on the Bongos and then there was the Onyx Sterling a while back. I have no idea what's coming, let's get that out of the way right now, but a Limited Edition is generally available on almost all instruments. That means new hardware for ALs, Axis', Stingrays, Sterlings....nah, my bet is against Stealth.

2. Chrome. Eh............no.

3. Some sort of sparkle. Never bet against sparkles! The Blue Dawn is a particularly beautiful example; I know we forumites have our own individual ideas about what other sparkles were attractive - Burnt Apple and Autumn Redrise come to mind - but if they'd been that popular, we'd still have them available as options. Never say never, said the man with the green basses.

4. Seafoam Green. I seem to recall BP saying that he wasn't going to duplicate any Fender classic colors. On a personal level, I'd love to see what a Seafoam Green Bongo or Albert Lee looked like, but if memory serves, this particular color came up before with a cool reception from the boss.

5. Sonic Blue. See Item 4, plus this year's LE was a blue.

6. Sterling Silver (my name for that color on Myung's sixer). Either Drew or Jon (enjoneer) said it was pricey to paint; how much of an upcharge are you guys willing to absorb? Sure is pretty.

The above represents only MY opinion, and I'm not an employee, so take it for what it's worth.

Buttercreme came out of left field last year; Blue Dawn was an old fave brought back to life - so who knows, really?

Not I.
