Welcome to Day 11 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on yesterday's NYNGD #2019-10!

Now, everyone knows I am a sucker for a quilt top, and will always take a quilt maple top over a flame maple top. Well... almost always.

Check. This. Thing. Out!

The flame top is perfection. The neck and fretboard are amazing -- and, P.S., with all the roasted maple lately, we all forget how utterly stunning the old birdseye EBMM necks were. The BFR dots are pure elegance (but too bad no 12th fret BFR inlay - bah...).

This guitar plays perfectly, sounds awesome, and generally has that special something... that brown thing that you get from a vintage EBMM even though it's new-ish. This guy is fair game for any project...

I'll be back tomorrow-ish with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Sweet!
And you're right about the 'old' bird's eye necks... they look especially sexy after they've been played for 10+ years and acquire that vintage tint..

Pure rock. That top is remarkable- it's like the perfect flame top. Looks like it was drawn by hand.

Nice score on that one!

Finally - an Axis :)
I'm totally with you, Jeff, concerning flame or quilt tops. But how can anyone not find that one awesome?!

As always AMAZING, I always love your finds and your collection is unbelievable, I have one buddy that has 39 guitars and my wife thought that was "different"
