Welcome to Day 10 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on yesterday's NYNGD #2020-9!

Alright, folks. Day #10. We're approaching the finish line. Let's get to it! Sweat has been patiently waiting for this one, so let's not delay!

I'll just leave it here: Silhouette BFR. The Silo has been mostly been designated a "legacy" model that doesn't really get much love these days. As far as I know, there has never been a BFR Silo (correct me below if I am wrong) in all the years that the Ball Family Reserve designation has existed -- certainly not in the days when there were BFR normal production models (like the Axis BFR) and regrettably not in the era of the low quantity limited run BFRs like EBMM have been doing for the past few years. Never a BFR Silo. Until now.

And HOLY CRAP, this Silo BFR makes up for the sins of the past! Amazing Silver Flake Sparkle finish... CHECK! Mirror pickguard... CHECK! Chrome/mirror pickups... CHECK! Chrome hardware... CHECK! This guitar is stunning.

OK, so it looks killer. Stunning. No photo does justice to this guitar. But that's just the beginning. THEN YOU PLUG IT IN! The Silo BFR is outfitted with new (for EBMM) DiMarzio pickups: a Super Distortion bridge humbucker, a Chopper Blade middle pickup, and a Super II Distortion neck humbucker. Man, this bridge pickup literally blew my mind the first time I played it. I was tracking a cover of Somebody Get Me a Doctor after EVH passed away, and my Koa Axis sounded great, but I wasn't blown away. Then I grabbed this Silo and plugged it into my Mojave Ampworks Dirty Boy head and was floored as I busted into the intro chords and then the main riff. Damn, these pickups are the ****.

I have been playing this guy a lot lately. Sounds awesome. Feels great. Looks killer. The only thing that would make this even more cool would be a floating Floyd Rose!

BTW, this Silver Flake Sparkle is not the same sparkle finish as the two Music Zoo 25th guitars, but close enough for a three-guitar family shot!

I'll be back tomorrow with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone!

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

Jeff and there we are the trifecta of Silver sparkles!!! Totally awesome!!!

If it didn't have a matching head stock I might have scooped up one.

Scott, told me these were modeled after Casey AL MM90's!!!

There is a good chance I would image that the Silo Special might make a BFR debut in 2021.

Amazing! Silver sparkle with matching headstock - love it! Can’t believe another fantastic flame neck. You’ve scored some great pieces of wood this year.

I absolutely love that Silo BFR, fell in love with it as soon as it came out. I didn't really bond with my silo's so I don't have them anymore, but if I did this one would be in my collection!
