Welcome to Day 8 of my annual New Year's New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2021-7!

Slowly but surely! I thought it had only been a week since my last NYNGD post and now I see it's been 13 days... Oofah! Whelp, here we go...

Today's guitar is a Luke 2 in the limited Black Sugar Roasted Maple package. I know what's you're thinking: "Oh jeez, DiBart is losing his marbles. The Black Sugar Luke 2 was NYNGD #2021-4! Get it together, Jeff!"

Nope. Incorrect. If you look closely, this one is different... Yep, it's a (pretty rare) Luke 2 with piezo! I bought the non-piezo one first. And then, literally a month later, this piezo equipped example came on the market. Well... I couldn't help myself. There are VERY FEW Luke 2's with piezo, and I'd wager that there are less than two or three in the Black Sugar Roasted Maple package -- maybe even just this one!

So... another killer guitar, same finish. However, besides the piezo, this guitar's neck is full-on glossy, whereas the other guitar's neck is not -- the other one was either PLAYED and the gloss wore away (I doubt it because the guitar is spotless) or a previous owner took sandpaper to it and removed the gloss in the middle. I also noticed that on this one the V-profile is way more pronounced than the other one, which tells me that maybe on the other one a previous owner actually sanded away some of the "V". I have done the same thing before on Luke 2's so I wouldn't doubt it.

So... I think I am probably open to considering offers on the non-piezo Luke 2. I'll even let you choose which neck you want -- the sanded one on the other guitar or the factory original glossy one on this guitar! DM me if you'd like to make an offer, but please don't lowball me -- these Black Sugar Roasted Maple guitars are very rare, these were the first EBMMs with roasted maple necks, it is MINT (besides the sanded neck but we can remedy that with this guy's neck), and honestly I'd rather just keep it than take a lowball offer.

Anyway, back to this guitar: Another awesome ebony fretboard with the coveted 12th fret BFR inlay (EBMM, PLEASE BRING BACK THE BFR INLAY!!!). I just spent about an hour playing this guy in piezo mode and in mix mode with the single coil EMGs -- it's awesome and you can get some cool sounds out of it!

I'll be back soon with another NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Day! Thanks for looking everyone, and thanks for being patient!

Past Days:
The new EBMM message board limits the number of characters in a post so I can't put a list of direct links in the post. Click here for an index.

(The back story in case you're new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I've done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date... So, as a fun holiday thing, let's launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I've received PM's about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. :) The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas -- these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house...)

I so like that finish...I think your pics are the best I've seen of it. It's hard to capture.
