Best bass I've ever played man, I just can't get over how awesome this bass is in all aspects. Just ridiculous. Any tone I want, solid construction, best neck, finish, birdseye maple, fretboard, frets, pickup, pickup location, EQ, pickup switch, balance, weight, inlays... just doesn't get any better than this :)

Had the PDN at work today... EVERYBODY thought it was the most beautiful bass they have ever seen. Its such a work of art... plays like a champ too. Best bass I've ever had by far... although I have a maple neck maple body bass incoming to contrast the warm Mahogany
 
Now that everyone has had there PDN for a while (except Jay) what are your thoughts? Any comparisons to a standard version of the instrument? JOSH
 
Mine is amazing! I've had several HH4 Bongos and this is by far the best sounding yet, there's something unique about the mids and overall tone. I also love the feel of the oiled neck, super comfortable.

A lot more natural warmth, not as much treble zing. (Thats what Mahogany does)... but the mids are still there & present. Its great. Rocked at church the other day, sounds like a warm pillow when I want it to (and I've never had a Sterling do that) but can also have that EBMM grind but not too much. I think having the Sterling wired in series helps over come the Mahogany warmth really well.

I love mine, tons of compliments from people who see it, its a true work of art

I really like the P-like tone out of the Big Al in Mahogany.

I absolutely love mine. Granted, I have only had mine just shy of 2 months but it plays so freaking good. I am starting to learn the ins and outs of this bass in greater detail now and am really starting to discover what it can do. The tone range and versatility in this thing is like no other. Definitely the most versatile bass I have ever owned.

+1 This bass can go further into warmer tones thus makes it more versatile than any I've played. If I want to move into more aggressive territory I solo the bridge, cut the lows, use a FET amp (Shuttlemax 9.2) with grindy GK NEO 115 / 412 cabs. Nice :)
 
I don't play mine enough but every time I do I'm reminded what an awesome bass it is and try to find ways to get more playing time on it. My 25th is my main because it fits so well in my weekly situation but I sometimes practice with the PDN just to get more playing time on it. Even with the limited playing time I have no regrets because there is plenty of room in the future for this baby.
 
Now I'm seeking for a mahogany fretless ray...

I'm caught by this special 'something' in the mids... it helps me to break through the 'paula-wall' of the two guitar-slingers in my southern rock band.

I sold my SR5 because she was endangered to end up in a dusty corner of my cellar. The SR5 sounded too tame compared to the mahogany SR4 :(

Sure.

I think it's my imagination, but the Stainless Steel Frets 'seem' smoother to me..Yes..I'm rolling my eyes too.

But I DO like the idea of the SS Frets..love them

Also..ROASTED = Stable...I have a 6 string bongo...I thought..well...here in Philly where it's humid like the Amazon in summer and dry like the desert in the winter..I'd be adjusting like crazy...Not So.


Roasted for me on all future EBMM basses..including the Classics
Not an adjustment yet.

I played my PDN at church today. Last week I played the candy apple red Bongo and comparing it to my other Bongo's, I am really starting to notice the warmer tones on this bass. The mids don't seem as prevalent. Our senior pastor loves it too. He has told me on more than one occasion that he loves that low end sound so I think this bass is his favorite out of all of the ones I have.
 
Josh (mmbassplayer) and I chilled this past weekend with our PDN Bongos. And they looked fabulous. The Bongo 6 keeps turning heads at the churches I play at. I'm hoping for another translucent finish for the Bongos soon. I really like the look of wood on these things. I know basswood isn't too pretty, but future mahogany offerings have my attention!

Jeremy forgot the most important fact of the night which was finally being introduced to a single H Bongo. I will let him comment. JOSH
 
there are no Reflex...I have seen very few pictures of this PDN run on the Reflex bass...and it looks great!
 
Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd sneak over to the Bass Side and share a pic of my PDN Axis. I'm very, very happy with it. MK, the stainless frets seem smoother to me, too. "Slippery" comes to mind.

The pao ferro fretboard is beautiful. Mine has chocolate stripes running the length of it.
