Um. Jeez.

There are some production delays in the "special" instruments - the 30ths, the Silo Anniversaries and the Ltd Edition 2006 finishes.

We're talking about a couple of weeks here, as best I understand it.

I have no details on what the hold-up is, but for God's sake, let's get a grip on reality here. It's probably some minor part or some such thing, but wouldn't you rather make sure everything is done right?

I know the factory at SLO likes that. Making sure it's all just right, that is.

Man, someone needs to lay off the coffee, really.

Soda Pop,
I have had this bass in the works since I gave Jack my personal bass for having to deal with a guy that was real irrational and troublesome. You're not that guy are you?

Do you have a 30th on order? Last I heard you got your deposit back from your dealer.

The thirtieth are experiencing some minor finishing issues. This is the first time we have made production stained Mahog bodies and we are'nt going to ship them if they aren't perfect. Period.
The LE's are ready but Schaller is very late on the gold tuners. When we get the tuners we can ship them.

I think that if we took a poll most reasonable people would think it was ok for me to have a bass especially since I did wait in line.

That tells you just about everything you need to know about BP and family. They are the nicest people (don't wake Big Momma up, though) you'd ever want to know.

I realize that Mr Soda Pop may not have all this information available, but perhaps it's better to figure out these things before setting off on an unreasonable rant amongst people who really do already know what sort of people the Balls are.

I say let's put it to a vote!

I'm just kidding, boss, I think you need a bass purdy quick.

SodaPop ~ there are quite a few of us here waiting on basses and guitars from the factory...and yeah, we're all anxious to get them in our hands.

But, none of us are pointing fingers at anybody involved in the building process, let alone Sterling, for any delays.

Orders are up in a big way, and these are not mass produced items that are put together half-assed.

That's all.

If anything, blame Ursula. It won't phase her.

That's because Jack is a real Ole Miss type gentleman...I, on the other hand would probably post something like this.

I assumed it was something along these lines, but didn't want to speculate

Just a few days ago, BP mentioned that they were moving through production - so I figured something was up. On the 30th, the main unique features are the body, the string-thru bridge and the finish on the back of the neck (and the logo on the headstock).

All I can say is that I know they will be more than worth the wait. I'll take one for the team, and I truly am glad that many others will have their wait shortened a bit. I'll survive :D

Here's the deal, we just can't make as many 30th's as we had scheduled for, so we are entering about FIFTY orders in slots that were designated for 30th's. We are still going to shipping over 80% on time boys and gals.

If I did my math correctly I get that there are about 250 30ths on order so that means that VBTC has about a 12% market share on these.

Ok, cool, was just extrapolating the fifty out of 80% you posted above and trying to get a market share percentage estimate. Let em rip and wait until you see my 1/3rd page, color ad featuring the 30th's in Bass Guitar Magazine coming out just about when they roll off the line.
