Hey Sterling, I have a question: Won't it be crazy expensive just tooling up for a 19 mm bridge? I mean I've put a ruler to a SR5 bridge, and I can't figure out how you'd do it without both a new bottom plate and new barrels? Or will you use another bridge?

I hope this makes 125, and I'm sad i can't order one (No I don't need a 19 mm SR5, Heinz is just fine by me, but I would have bought one if I had the funds.)

Yeah, fanboy I am, and reading this thread makes me even prouder to be one.

What cellkirk said ^^^
Have missed out on most of the last weeks developments, but agree totally with what's been said earlier about being prouder than ever to play EBMM basses.

Boy am I glad there is some humor starting to flow. This has been the worst experience ever for me on the forum
When it is over I may retire from posting. This all started because people thought I was not understanding the market and not giving the players what they wanted. The personal attacks are why other owners of companies dont participate on public forums.

Having started this thing on Talkbass (although the 19mm issue has also been raised by others previously), I had no idea that it would unleash so many bitter exchanges that went way beyond the simple question of whether some number of folks might dig a 19mm/wide-neck SR5 option. I can't apologize for that which was so unforseeable and beyond my control, especially the slams on Sterling and his motives with the business and his charitable activities (this last bit was REALLY offensive), but I can surely regret it!

Anyhow, let's see what happens on the orders -- If the consumer demand is not there, I can't fault MM for not proceeding, although I hope that there is enough of a showing to push these into production. I spent two hours this afternoon in a practice room with my Sadowsky R5-24, my SR5HH and a couple of different amps, and have to report that the SR5HH sound was the one that consistently floated my boat.

Please don't do that Sterling, you're part of the reason this is an enjoyable experience for us all...

100% agree. it's the same old story, you will always find people few bitching but unfortunately these are the most visible.

Hot off the presses.....after 14 days...the order tally is FOUR! ONe more week.

So the original poll in TB had like 79 folks saying they'd order one in a New York Minute.

The current TB poll has like 11 saying they will order.

Looks like some humble pie coming down the pike (although I'd prefer a humble crumble).

I would expect we would see the most movement this week as more people who previously did not have the funds may have come up with the funds finally.

Joe people on the guitar side have experienced this....THere was always people yipping for a forum only guitar....I stopped arguing and said "Ok put up and Ill make it" That is how the Dargie went so sometimes it works.......
I am afraid that this isnt looking good.....But I will hang in there and extend the deadline one more week so it will be exactly a month that I extended the offer.

I think that is admirable and makes sense since one month is the usual ordering window for special runs.
For me, I'm in bass heaven with the two 25th's and monster Roasted Bongo 5 HH, by the way I'm 62 and have gone through a fair amount of basses, I was hesitant at first with concerns over the glossy finish on the neck on the Roasted, but I'm saying right here, and no smoke, the Roasted neck is the best gloss finish I've ever played, not to mention the best Bongo ( my fourth ) I've ever played. All the Best and Continued Success, Rick

Hey, it's a learning experience, and it's all good! If it happens, great. If it doesn't, I'll deal. And now I know a whole lot more -- good and bad -- about Internet communication and commerce. And I have a much better picture of how you and your crew do your thing, and am duly impressed.

I am keeping an eye on the numbers...... if gets close to 125, I will order one (to my US address)

This is the kind of thinking that will doom 19mm spacing. Everyone wants to be the order to push it over the top. If you want one, order one. That's the only way it'll get anywhere near 125.

Won't you guys feel dumb if there are 122 people waiting around for it to "get close to 125?" :D

Hello Big Poppa, I haven't read all the thread, but can I ask if I can buy one of these basses...? yeah I know I live in Mexico city, but I can go and pick the bass in the US myself...can that work?

By the way, I always admire the way EBMM care for us...thank you!

Just placed my order - HH/Maple. If this happens, I'll drive up and pick it up so I can shake a few hands!
