Oh my God the pictures on the internet do it no justice. Just got done watchin the VH-1 classic concert with DT and they showed it in action in two songs. It is so beautiful. It looked so awesome on stage. Sounded alot warmer than his regular EBJP's

Oh, I don't know... I think this picture does it some justice! ;)

Man, I am all over that thing.

I remember a while back a thread talking about some specs we'd like on a guitar, and that one fits my bill. Almost perfectly, minus the mahogany body.

Rob, were you at the Hollywood show (The first date) for the SFAM tour? I get shivers down my spine when I listen to that song and remember that moment... WOW.... that was simply great.

That quilted top is absolutely awesome! I want one so bad in Blue.

I was at the fairly recent London 'Dark Side Of The Moon' show, when Theresa Thompson joined then again for TSCO.

A very rare and special moment. She is fantastic!!:D

No. Wasn't at the Hollywood show. Unfortunately, I was living in Asia at the time of that tour. Otherwise, I probably would have made the Roseland show.

I would have loved to have seen them do TSCO live with Theresa in London. Heck...I would have loved to have seen them do DSOTM. At least, I have both DSOTM and TSCO with Theresa on DVD. :D

I thought it just had the mahogany tone block. I thought the rest of the body was basswood with a maple top.

Intrigued to see BP's Lukeouette that he's planning to give Lucious.

It was a tremendous show. I was lucky enough to be about 7 or 8 rows from the front, dead centre - about the best position possible IMO, with excellent views of the whole band.

Having been lucky enough to see Floyd perform the whole DSOTM back in'94, I can say that DT were possibly even better. The heavier moments being slightly heavier and therefore more to my particular taste.

TT doing the Great Gig in the Sky is also a special moment that I will long remember.

the body is made of alder with a mahoghany tone block and then a maple top. This is the best sounding body we have ever made. I keep telling people that the 20th Sil is our best effort to date.

I guess we're a little off topic, but who cares?

Often times, I feel that DT may play cover material better than the original artists play their own material. I prefer DT's live version of Master of Puppets over Metallica's studio version. I listen to DT's DSOTM more than the original DSOTM. I prefer watching them do DSOTM live to watching PF do it on the Pulse DVD. There's also just something about JP doing other people's material. It's amazing to hear his command of the instrument. You can just hear him and his amazing level of control. It's just above and beyond so many others except maybe someone like Steve Morse.

Bungo, were you in New York for the 1 April, 2006, show?

More thoughts:

1. News of the Sitrucci/maple top JP/hybrid JP/Deluxe JP keeps me glued to the forum like no other guitar.

2. Though I know I'm missing out on the limited edition (i.e., 20th Silo, DD, 30th SR(not that I play bass), 2006 LE guitars/basses) offerings now, I can only imagine how much I'll love this guitar if/when it comes out. I will just make a way to afford this guitar. Maybe have a firstborn, then sell them. :D

3. I have faith that EBMM keeps getting better and better, with cool offerings to come in the future. So, even though I'm missing out on some great guitars, I'm sure there will be something fantastic in the future.

me and my dad were watching DT do Highway Star I think it was and my dad is an absolute blackmore nut (as am I) and he doesnt really like petrucci, he called my g3 dvd "widdlefest" and he just doesnt like him but yeah petrucci was playing it to a TEE and my dad actually said it was good until the solo, where he started shredding then my dad lost interest and ill admit I dont like the stuff he did to it, its cool when guitarists add their own solos, but not after you play the original, thats kind of like sneezing in your hand and wiping your hands with your handkerchief that was in your pocket..if you know what i mean

Yeah...sometimes JP goes a little too far in that direction. I agree. I don't really like the shredding he did on the Live Scenes From New York DVD/CD on the "John/Theresa Solo Spot" before "Through Her Eyes."
