Meh... it's alright.
I'll stick with the regular JPs. I don't really care for 24 3/4" scales or mapel tops.

That's only part of the equation. Neck construction & mahogany neck/body makes
for some fat tone. The Petrucci meets the Les Paul...I think it's brilliant.

i think the shorter scale length means less string tension which could be really cool for bending and vibrato. :)

Wow,

this is definitely going to be worth every penny. And if you guys keep coming up with new models at this pace, we all will be out of cash within the next year or so.

Thank you EBMM, things are looking great.

Keep up the good work.

What a great looking proto! It's nice to see that some thought has gone into using the woods as a design feature, as well as tonewoods, providing contrast between the light figured maple and the darker, plain mahogany, rather than the entire top being a lump of maple.

For some reason, I can envision this model with zebra pickups. I'd better start saving for one!

Well, short scales just do not feel right for me. And If I want another Les Paul I'll buy another Brian Moore DC-1. :D

I don't pay attention for a day, and look what happens! I had a few neck through shred machines in the late 1980's . . . A neck-through JP6 would be a monster!

I guess I'll have to start saving my pennies for a new JP . . . That's a must have guitar.

I wonder what a transparent Mystic Dream type stain over the quilt would look like (Hint) I wouldn't paint that thing at all - I'd stain the whole body & clear coat it. Color shift and nice wood grain!

:) ya, i was wondering how that came up

Some of the new Dream Theater has sorta leaked out, well not leaked out, but there are radio edits of two songs going around. I have not heard them, but the buzz is that Mr. Petrucci is using some very low tunings, (A Bb). I think when people say baritone, what they really mean is a guitar that can handle the lower tunings a better than the regular JP model. EBMM already makes the baritone Silhouette, no need for another true baritone.

is a transparent mystic dream type stain even possible? I'd pay good money to see that :)

I don't know, but you guys rock to even show us this stuff....!!!

Too much left to speculation at this point so I'll hold all technical thoughts but it's certainly exciting.

john has one of the silo baritone and really likes it.

Is it silver spangle and red with a rosewood fingerboard? I'm sure I've seen a clip of JP using one like that.
