Who's gonna get a roasted Bongo 6? Talk about a monster.

I almost ordered an HS Bongo 6, but then I was given a great deal on the Reflex bass. I loved both of my Bongo 6s while I had them, but after trying the 25th model at GC a couple weeks ago my mind was set on exactly what I wanted.

Can't wait to see what a B6 looks like if someone orders one!

Yeah but its cheap stain everybody knows that1 Oh wait there is no stain.....jesus anoother expert shot down.

Hey BP, maybe somebody has this confused with that "foto flame" thing that some japanese fenders had  . Remember the "hamburgler" mask that showed up on some of the neck finishes- .

roasting the body too?

If this has been covered I apologize, but with the benefits listed for the necks why not roast the body too?

A well-done Bongo or Big Al with a clear coat might look quite nice. Plus it might smell delicious

:)

Finally pulled the trigger and put in my order today. Bongo 4H BFR Roasted neck. I tried to go for the Stealth option for black hardware but was told that was not an option. Either way i am excited about my new bass. Hurry up November. JOSH

This may be unique to Maple as other woods may not achieve the desired effect or be able to handle the roasting process like maple. Plus, it may sound horrible using a roasted body tone wood. It's possible it has been experimented with though. If it achieved results that were pleasing, I would venture to guess that manufacturers would be testing/using it. It seems as though it is best suited for the neck if you re-read the qualities it imparts to the wood (Maple).

I don't know as I am not an expert on these things. These are just my thoughts to your post.

My guess would be cost and availability. Maybe nobody's doing the body woods yet. If the necks are popular enough maybe they'll do it.

I'm struggling to understand what mentioning a family heritage of Italian engineers was supposed to prove?

not trying to rehash but,i was scratching my head on this too.

i showed my wife the roasted neck and her reply was

"fvck away off he is making them things too pretty how could you not want one"

(btw that was Irish for she really likes it)

Well, the Bongo body is made of basswood, which isn't very attractive... that's why Bongos are not available with trans finishes.

Don't know what it'd look like roasted.

Yup, that is not an option. They will sell you the black hardware attached to a complete stealth bass (better to buy used though). You can swap the hardware between the two basses and resell the Stealth with chrome hardware at a reduced price. The difference in price is what the black hardware will cost you. I did this with a certain white Bongo and the hardware ended up costing around $300.

Markbass... i know what i would have to do to get black hardware. I do not care that much honostly. Just figured i would try to get my order put through as a Stealth and pay the upcharge. I was about 95% sure they would say no to Stealth but figured i would try anyway. JOSH
