OK Rob
I have walked in your shoes. Casey went code blue twice and they brought him back to life. I ve waited in the waiting room for 8 surgerys by the time he was 6.
Here is what I can tell you. Do not see ghosts..... deal with the present and dont project anything that isnt positive. You are his advocate and keep an eye on things. You have to be strong as hard as it is.......
Now all I can do is offer to answer any questions that arise out of this via pm. I can also offer the services of Mattel Childrens Hospital at UCLA. I am once again on the board of directors there. I was the founding member and have donated my time to them for 14 years 8 as a board member. THe Ball family has huge juice there and it is yours. If your doctors want to run some film or lab stuf by the guys there or if the need arises I can arrange for him to come here. I sure that he has great treatment but a backup never hurts.
THe best wishes I can send are comin at you and your family
When are we going to talk about how hoorible those chairs are....at least in the states....
whats worse than the chairs is the lack of variety in the food. McDonalds or McDonalds, they are the main sponsor of the hospital. At least maccas is a whole lot better than 15 years ago.
Well, where to start. Belinda and I have been going through the toughest time over the past 4 weeks, and it gets worse from here. My 8 week old son Tom recently got diagnosed with a rare liver disorder calld Biliary Atresia, its just awful. We have been in the Children's hospital here in Melbourne for ages it seems, and today is the big day , right now Tom is in surgery having a major operation to correct the problem. Its a life threatening disorder and the surgery only has a 40% success rate, which is very hard to take. They have to stretch part of the small intestines up to the liver so the bile can flow. If it fails he will need a liver transplant, and we are hoping that is not needed as its quite rare to get one. Its seriously difficult to take as he is so lovely and has been a great kid for his first 8 weeks! He smiles all the time at me, we have a great time. Not much we can do but wait and hope for the best. Wish us luck!!
