Frankiman, you will still have that sound. It's generated using the innermost coils of each humbucker in parallel with each other. Instead of being the middle position on this guitar it will be the position in between the middle and the neck.

Cool. Interesting how it will be located there instead...

Henry, I'm a huge fan of the JP but I've gotta disagree and say that the best looking Koa is the LUKE! Those rounded body edges really work with the burst on that guitar, mmmmmmm....

Pete, you got any leads where someone could get a Koa Luke...;) :p

Whoa, that's a lot of feedback within a couple of hours!!!!

I'm sure the 10th Anniversary JP will be a huge success. Personally, if I had to replace my JP-6 I would still grab one of the "oldschool" JP-6 with scoop and MD finish. Nevertheless, great job guys!

Looks really sleek - can't wait to see/ hear JP play it!

Congrats to John on his new guitar and to EB for pushing the envelope!

I love the look of this guitar. I think it's going to be great. The chambers really do amazing things to round out the tones. I heard Luke rip up a 25th on the promotional tour, and it was SICK. Notes leapt out of that guitar like gazelles on Red Bull.

One option that I'd love to see is the traditional EBMM neck finish (caranuba wax/gunstock oil). I'm sure that JP likes the gloss finish, which is why it was applied here (duh). However, for me, the traditional finish is one of the great things that sets EBMM guitars apart and above the rest. One thing I sure don't miss on my old guitars were lacquer-finished necks. They get so draggy when you start to sweat. I played my Axis for three hours with no set breaks on New Years Eve and the neck was fast as lightning all night long.

How different is the polyester finish from lacquer?

Have you ever played a BFR by any chance? I thought the same thing about painted necks, because the guitars I used to play were all ESP's and Jackson USA's with painted necks. The BFR necks even though painted, don't get sticky or anything. Its amazing.

Thsi just might be the gtr Ive been looking for in the MM line up for sometime.

I really like the spacing, size and shape of the JP neck but have wanted a ebony board. Also, I was kind of hoping for the more traditional 5 way switch and pickups similar to my Axis Sport. And the JP trem is the best.

My only qualm may be with the lack of a natural or transparent finish.

How can there be so much controversy when nobody has heard it plugged in? Might well be the best sounding guitar EBMM has ever made!

Congrats EBMM, looks killer, and can't wait to hear it.

Some people don't necessarily need to hear it to make an opinion. Some just aren't into the looks of it. For example, I'm the type of person that if I don't like the way a guitar looks, I'm not even gonna try it. Its got to appeal to me looks wise, then if I try it and it sounds great, there ya go.

Can someone explain to me the difference in fret sizes with this model and the previous one? What exactly is the difference?
