I think thats complete nonsense.. Email CS Lionel. They should clear things up easily.;)

First they tell me the Silo Spec not available. Now the send me these specs:

MM Silhouette Special (541-L6-6R/M-19)
: HSS tremolo with piezo, Sequoia Gold color, rosewood or maple neck with matching headstock: - S$****.00

(btw, it's really overpriced, especially with the US dollar so low compared to the SGD, but I got no choice since this is the only way I can guarantee a LE08 for myself)

Aiyoh... Dont' they know anything about EBMM guitars??? Oh well. I'll just WAIT again for the corrected price...

piezo isnt available on the LE 08, only on the JP i thought, or just not at all??

Heh... Rob, you hit the nail on the head. So they quote me a price with the piezo, which is an upcharge. Are they trying to rip me off? or do they really not know about the non-piezo LE08s? (except the petrucci) I'd believe it's the latter, but still doesn't taste good in my mouth.

yeah i think you need to nicely try and let them know the correct details. the first time i walked in to my local EBMM dealer and asked about ordering an EBMM they said they had 4 coming in the next day, turned out to be OLP's, then they told me that the real EBMM's stopped being made in 1979. Goodbye.

WHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

That's a good one! Really funny... Honestly, I did tell them what I wanted. Though I didn't mention any thing about a piezo. I merely asked for an LE08 Silo Spec in RW and matching headstock. they're the ones who threw in the piezo and charged me for it...

I can't wait to see it! Did they give you an idea of how long it may take? Your post is very bad for my GAS. It gets me thinking...thinking gets me in trouble

Heheheh... go get one! I'll bet the LE08 is a killer look. If it's anything close to the LE06 editions, then it'll be stunning.

They told me approximately 4 months for delivery. I'm thinking that with not that many orders for the LE08 at THIS POINT (I could be wrong), Rob's and mine could be one of the first few to roll off the factory... I'm hoping it is...:D

I emailed Colin yesterday and ordered this

Silo Special, LE 08, SSS, matching head, hardtail, maple neck/board. rock on.

Rob, these were exactly the specs I had wanted to change my order to. But it's a long story. My local dealer for some reason tells me that since he had alreayd placed my order for the HSS RW one, he doesn't advise changing the order (it was only 1hr difference in time span) because the factory could possibly screw up the order and give something completely different.

You know, this guitar is making me feel less guilty about always buying EBMMs from other sources (Japan) and not from my local dealer...

You know what he told me yesterday? "I was told (probably by CS) that you're a member of the forums. That proabably means you know more about EBMM guitars than we do..." WTF???? BTW, his tone was one of wry sarcasm... possibly because I've been giving him some grief thru CS for not responding to my queries...

I'm in the luxury retail business (watches), and this is NOT the way to assure your customers that your'e the right person to go to for questions... This is the last time I go to them for an EBMM... I had wanted to get a JP7 to replace my Ibanez. Looks like I got shopping in Japan to do this year.:D

You can definitely change the order, many guys here have changed theirs even after a few months, though i'm sure the longer you leave it the bigger pain in the ass it is for EBMM, but even a few weeks doesnt make that much difference i wouldve thought??

Exactly... So. Either the local dealer is lazy, or really doesn't know how business is done. And they claim they've been in the business for "so many years"...

I wish EBMM would appoint someone else for their local dealer... I could probably suggest a few!

Beth, if you want recommendations, let me know!!!!:D

Wow, CS is really awesome. Kudos to them for dealing with our dealer to clear up matters. But what impress me most is CS bringing up the term "forum member", this really shows VIP treatment to members of the Family here.

Way to go, CS! ;)

Well, do clarify things, I didn't join this forum to be treated with VIP care, though it's a nice touch. What I did appreciate was the care taken by CS to ensure I could get the guitar I wanted. I didn't mind a RW neck that much over maple, so I didn't press the issue. I just thought that I wouldn't bother dealing with these guys after I get my guitar.

But for the record, many thanks to Nathan Stiff for all his patience and help in getting me the correct info and getting the dealer's facts straight (like telling them that the Silo Spec is INDEED available for LE08)

That's my big debate, Rosewood or Maple. If I can hold my GAS, I guess I'll use your two first run pics to help me decide. Of course, four months is a long time to hold back GAS.
