I love my sport. I am thinking of selling some guitars I swore I'd keep forever because it's the only one I play lately!

Any new Axis Sport owners? I'm still searching for a nice one...

Come on, post some nice pics, even if they're already old! :)

I think it's perfect as it is. That nice grain should not be hidden under a pickguard. :)

But, as you mentioned it, do we have any more HH Pickguard Axis Sports here? I love the one Jimmyb posted on the first page of this thread:

My perfect Axis Sport would be like this:

- 2 Humbuckers
- Pickguard
- Trem
- Piezo
- (matching headstock)

But I'm not sure whether something like this even exists...?

I think that the piezo option on the sport came after the pickguards were dropped, somewhere around '99 when they rationalised the line. However at the time, there were quite a few different options whizzing around, so it may be that a couple were made.

I have never seen an Axis Sport with Trans finish and matching headstock, at a second thought never saw a matching headstock with Axis Sport actually :)

Initially the Axis Sport was a Budget guitar, so I think EBMM where trying to keep the cost down. In many aspect, this so call "simple" guitar, is all what I need ;)

My Orange Sport has a matching headstock, I prefer the natural but didn't ask questions when I found it, I jumped on it as well as my recently acquired vintage burst w/ MM90's. I took a couple of quick pics this morning...

Wow Fred that orange matching headstock must be quite rare. Can you take a picture of it? Love the mm90 the neck looks unbelievable

Sure, I'll take better pics tonight. It's the first matching headstock Sport I've run across but really didn't think about it too much other than being a little disappointed since it stands out from the rest of my guitars...

The neck on the mm90 is incredibly figured for a sport, most that I've seen didn't have much birdseye if any and orange sport is above average too.

One thing about them and I'm not sure if yours are like this but the orange sport's neck is shaped like a Silhouette and the burst is shaped like an Axis. Big difference between the two...

no actually both guitars have typical Axis neck. Actually the hand finish on these neck can do a big difference. My band mate Luke's neck is very different from mine that has a very accentuated V shape

Totally non-obligatory and out of personality 'live' shot:

Oh, they do exist, indeed. Some of the plain colored Sports had a matching headstock (just saw a blue dawn one) and some of the translucent ones, too. Here's one that was for sale <<in the UK>> a few weeks ago:

Very nice example of a Sport, btw. :)

Actually, this one seems to be the one Greg Jones posted a while back <<here>>...

I will have a pic to add here shortly... recently had to sell my Reflex to pay the bill collectors... but I'm back in the game with a locally-sourced AS.

Mint NOS condition, can't wait to pick her up this weekend. (GC's new hold policy on used gear sucks!)

Didn't think it was possible but I dig the feel/sound more than the Reflex! Just wish it were physically as big as the Reflex... :p
