Thank you everyone for their generosity! There was $50 donated this morning on the guitar side. I believe this means there is less than $100 to meet the goal. I am sure someone would like to be the one to push this over the top. Then we can work on world hunger ;-). Merry Christmas everyone!

p.s. I have found it real interesting to see how many donations have come from outside the US.

JayDawg-

I just read your story, and have sent $15. I am 16 years old, and am currently finishing my junior year in high school. I hardly ever see kids my age donate to good causes, and really want to change that. I had a last 15$ in my PayPal account, I have sent it over! I really wish I could have contributed more- unfortunately eBay auctions are too slow, I can't sell in time- you'll have made the goal!

This forum has been incredible to me- I've been here for about a year now, and I only own one EBMM, but I hope to own many someday, when the money permits :) Best instruments on the planet!

Best of luck to you and your family- I have no doubt that you'll make the goal within the evening!

All the best!

Done, 100$ less to find!
God bless you all

If my tally is correct that would make it $4975.69?

I had already sent $100 earlier, but as the starter of the thread (with the idea from gearhunter) I'd like to end it as well.

I just sent the last $25.00 to Jaydawg as a gift via Paypal. That should cover the $5000, correct? :)

You guys, thank you all very much! The total amount needed has now been received. Actually, the total amount collected is $5,050.69. Rochelle and I cannot thank you all enough for all of your kindness and generosity. I actually just called her surgeon that will be doing the re-construction surgery and she has an appointment for April 3rd and then after that surgery will most likely be in the beginning of July. I did it that way because there are 4 surgeries needed and the soonest she could get into surgery would be May if he saw her at his soonest time of the beginning of February. My fiscal year starts in July meaning our insurance deductibles start all over then so after speaking with the surgeons secretary, she also thought it would be best to see Rochelle in April and then do the first surgery in July so we have the entire fiscal year to do all 4 surgeries that are needed.
Thank you all again for everything. My wife and I are indebted to you all!
Jay

You all really have made my families Christmas this year. When Rochelle got home, I told her the good news and she was really excited. She then paused and had a weird look on her face and said to me, "They're not expecting before and after photos of me are they?" She cracks me up. I told her there was a standing rule on the site that when someone gets a new bass, they have to post pics otherwise it means no pics/no bass. She then asked if photos of her in the hospital when she gets her surgeries would do? I said it probably would.

I'm really glad we could help, man. I personally wanna thank everyone in this thread for making this possible. Big thanks to Gearhunter420 for the motivation to get this done. I've been in the middle of a move and graduating and things have been crazy. Really glad he didn't give up on this either!!! Also, another BIG thinks to the big guy himeself: Sterling. There's no doubt in my mind your offer for free strings didn't persuade some to help out as well.

Thanks to everyone who helped here! Humanity at it's best.

I agree. To both Jim for coming up with the idea and Sterling for allowing the forum to be used for this and the offer he made, Rochelle and I are very grateful for them for everything they have done for us. We were also blown away by how many people gave from not only in the U.S. but in other countries as well. This truly was an act of generosity from throughout the world!

This just makes me feel al warm and fuzzy inside. Just to know that things like this are still possible in the world. As said by some above already, I have never actually met someone from this forum, and I am thousands of miles away from Sterling, Colorado, but I hope my small controbution will make a fellow-EBMM nut's life better!

BP, I will be at the NAMM this year (business wise). Especially since I am from Europe, it could be much easier to pick up the strings at the show.. If it would make Aziah's life easier, I can also take the strings for the Europeans back with me, and send them from the Netherlands?

OK here is my deal.....

Every bass player that gives $100. gets three sets of Slinky Bass strings...(four string sets)
Every guitarist gets a dozen sets of 6 string Slinkys and an Music Man Hat...

Lets see how we do here....Lets see how much we can raise....If we exceed the $5,000.00 we will donate the excess to the relay for life in JDawgs area.....

Sound good?

We get sidetracked in life and on this forum by some clueless people....acts such as this show that there is a heart beating and sincere desire to help......

Now I have to twist the export distributors to participate!

I am very proud to be involved with all of you.

First off I would like to say that it has been so touching to see the amount of support this forum has banded together to give.

So now I will need some info from you guys to get some strings! I've gone through the thread, but I don't know if everyone that donated posted. I think the easiest way to do this is to have everyone that was able to donate $100, email me your info. I will need to know:

Forum Handle
Real Name and Address
If you are outside of the USA please make sure to let me know. (We are going to try and get the distributors involved in this to help out)
String choice/hat choice and size (see Sterling's quote)
You can find the hats here:Ernie Ball Inc. - Clothes, Hats

If you are emailing from a different address than the PayPal donation was sent, please let me know what address the donation was sent under.

Thank you all!
