I think perhaps mass producing a SR shape with binding, as well ass the 3 single pickup combination would suit the EB line. Perhaps try and steal some of Rickenbackers fans. Who the hell wants to wait 6-8 months for their bass to be built???? lol
The traditional look is fine, but we have that already. Stingrays, and sterlings to an extent...These are models I suspect will be offered for a long time to come.
But whats the point in bringing out new basses that look like the old ones? The new electronics package should go in a totally new bass (like the bongo). I think I remember Sterling saying about how EBMM is about looking into new designs, not reissuing old ones (and lets face it, we don't EBMM to become another fender, squeezing out reissues whenever possible)
Personally, and when I say that I mean 'speaking for the majority' I think the new design is fantastic. And we all know it will sound incredible, play amazingly...and it doesn't look as 'controvertial' as the bongo so it may get loved by more people.
