There seems to be a lot of people wanting to come we might have to do a golden ticket type setup like willy wonker ( I did say wonker) :D

Well, he's not footing the bill for anyone to come. I assure you--once a date is set, people will drop off like flies. Heck--my attendence is contingent on a very small window of opportunity.

I'm taking my girlfriend to Belgium next March for her last spring break of law school, and that's priority number one.

Rumour has it that SLO is world renown for their wines...now let's see, guitars, food, wine...oh yeah, I can see the headlines now! ;)

Yo I just checked out the Hotel Obispo...55-70.00(family room) that's pretty cheap. Ah my wife would be proud of me if I can plan a decent vacation :D

I would love to have the freedom to go. I have to deal with a schedule that at times can turn brutal and live on the other side of the continent.

I do think that it is a wonderfull thing to be doing .I will be at the EB sponsored clinic that Tony Levin is giving tonight.

the elusive Beth

Hey everyone,

SLO actually has its own airport, which is a lot more accessible from LAX than Monterey. It is a beautiful place and your wives are crazy if they don't want to visit there. Hmm...I can even organize a ladies' shopping trip/ladies' beach trip to scope out the surfer dudes if they get super bored. You're right, next to Napa Valley in Northern California, San Luis Obispo has some of the best wines in the world. Once you've visited there, you'll see why the grapes are so happy!

BUT, I have to be in on the martini contest. I make a Dirty Vodka Martini like you wouldn't believe...

LAX --> SLO

Actually, the drive from LAX to San Luis Obispo is quite lovely. You could easily fly into LAX and drive up to San Luis Obispo and visit the Santa Barbara county wineries on the way up (just like in that movie "Sideways" hahahaha)

I meant to put this over here...

Not too bad...

Rental Car - $50
Roundtrip Airfare and Hotel for 2 nights - $600
The chance to hang out with some forum folks, meet endorsed artists, a cookout and factory tour at Ernie Ball - $Priceless

Better than I thought going coast to coast. Now if the dates will work out... Westward Ho!

Gee I don't know...I'm not too worried about the surfer dude, it's the ladies shopping trip that has me thinking

Golden Ticket

I this idea of a Golden Ticket. This might give the chance for one of us non-US resident forum members to take the trip of a lifetime.

Would probably be worth some PR in local papers too....

perhaps EB would consider it. :)

And maybe us Westcoasters driving in can pack a guitar or two (or 3) in our cars for a little all night strum'n pick back at the hotel. (or basses)

The more I think about this, the cooler it gets.

Heh--yeah, I like the idea of someone else paying for it, too. :D

I think providing the informational/educational treasure trove they are offering is more than enough. Don't go getting greedy.

I think this was covered already in the very beginning.

Something like - you guys get here and we'll show you a good time and feed you and treat you nicely.

Now that sounds like the best deal going.

And again - don't try this with Gibson, okay?
