seriously. custom shop my ass ... i already want a ASS w/ MM90s and then another humbucker version ASS and the AL sounds cool too, then who doesnt want a Silo ... but then theres the Silo special and the Rosewood Axis??? oh ya, and a Bongo too ... and if i ever got a 5 string id get an SR5

c'mon i just listed 6 or 7 EBMMs i want ... just illustrated how many options we already have. oh ya, not to mention that you might want something you already have in a diff color.

with all that said I do appreciate some of the comments ive heard re: "custom" options. in my fantasy world (when i get a sig model the day after Raz) id like an EBMM "version" of a LP Junior ... 1 MM90 in bridge, trans black, pickguard kinda like the ones Axis Sports had.

and you guys all know that if EBMM had a custom shop we'd all have 97 guitars, be broke, couldnt afford our DSL anymore and wouldnt be able to get on this forum.

There are several posts on this board on how individuals have done their own "custom" work to their EBMMs. Heck, I even hot rodded a couple. Well OK 3. I love rewiring the switching systems. I set it up just how I want it. If you want your EBMM customized get one and do it yourself. Find a good luither in your area and have him (or her) do it for you. Oh that would cost to much. Shut up and go back to work and save up. Have it done just the way you want it. If you do that then you get exactly what you want. There is no law that says you can't. OK so someone may not like the way I "cutomized/destroyed" one of my EBMMs. I don't care cause I don't let them play my guitar. Is keeping your EBMM factory spec so important that you can't customize it to suit your tastes. Get your self the cheapest pawn shop guitar you can and pratice on it (not playing). Then you too can expierence the same joy that jonguitarz does every day. If you ruin a guitar then just nail it up on your wall (I would use my EBVH (Ernie Ball Volume Hammer) to do that.) call it modern art or a conversation piece and try not to make the same mistake again.

I'm with NorM on this one. Half the fun of having multiple guitars is messing around with them to suit your needs. None of my guitars is stock anymore. Besides the cool paint job on my Petrucci (the swirly green that's lickable), I also installed a push/pull pot on the volume knob. Now I have six pickup options instead of three. I did the exact same thing on my Axis (pics are in the pic thread). I aslo replaced the plastic knobs with metal dome knobs. Why? Because that's what makes the guitar more playable/versatile for me!

I think keeping a guitar stock to "maintain it's integrity (read: long term value potentail) is counter to what being an artist/musician rock and roller is all about. Make those beotches your own!! If you're buying as an investment, I suggest oil stocks :D

True true true....
If you are doing what you want to do, then you are right to do so.

A wise man(Big Poppa) once said a guitar mfg company has a custom shop because their regular line sucks( not an exact quote, but it was something like that)

Not meaning to rock the boat on this one, but PRS offer private stock models (at a ridiculous price, I grant you) and I don't believe that has anything to do with their regular line sucking, but because they want to provide a service of offering your dream guitar (after a lottery win etc) with whatever options you want. I personally hope EBMM does not go down this route as mere mortals on a salary like myself could not benefit, but I could imagine several forumites taking up the offer of a custom, even at a custom price ;)

I don't know......aren't they (EBMM) guitars custom anyway? I mean, they are done to the artists specs.......just like a custom shop.

We have one resident repair guru (Jon) who will work on your axe just as well as he would on an artists. I have been told by him (Jon) that he really enjoys working on our guitars and doing his "customizations" on them. Talking to him was cool and he was very cool in answering my questions, me being just a mere mortal and all... ;)

If I only lived closer, I'd love to send my Axis in for a little 'official' treatment. I'd be too nervous to send it from NS, Canada to California.

Maybe not "custom shop".... more like premium options. It would be nice to specify a flamed maple neck. It would be cool to have the option of ordering a Luke w/ the above mentioned neck and floyd rose bridge.

But there is always ebay and I got those options today in a Morse.

Jeez guy. Jon and BP already locked your previous thread....you're like the kid who goes and touches a hot burner after his parents give him the "Don't touch that it's hot!" warning about 90 times...
